The Beatles - Abbey Road
100

The height of music.

Dude what are you doing

David Bowie - The Man Who Sold the World
82

Bowie’s most overlooked record. It’s not Ziggy Stardust or Blackstar but some songs here, notably the opening and title tracks, are exceptional.

Tally Hall - Marvin's Marvelous Mechanical Museum
12

This album is whiter than me and I basically glow in the dark

I was even more wrong about this than I was Cub. It’s not got that character their debut does but it’s still awesome.

Grian Chatten - Chaos For The Fly
81

Grian Chatten the man you are.

Wunderhorse - Cub
90

Ok so I was completely wrong about this.

Alan Walker - Walkerworld 2.0

Things you can do with this 1 hour and 4 minutes which people are spending listening to Alan Walker:

- Go to class (exactly one hour)
- Play two thirds of a football/soccer match
- Go for a walk
- Have an exercise session at your local gym
- Volunteer in your local community
- Go out with friends
- Attend a concert
- Cook a meal
- Spend time with your family
- Fly from London to Newcastle (50 minutes)
- Make a song
- Find out who the fuck any of these features are

The Velvet Underground & Nico - The Velvet Underground & Nico
45

I don’t know what to think to be frank. The random impulsive crashouts were pretty funny. The Nico songs are actually great but the rest are just… yikes.

Kanye West - My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy
94

You’ll probably go into this and leave without having heard a new song that you didn’t know before. That sums up how monumental this album is.

Franz Ferdinand - The Human Fear
68

Fuck the haters on this! This band will obviously never escape their status as one hit wonders, but that doesn’t mean they can’t make some absolute bangers. It has it’s obvious flaws— the lyricism did not do it for me at all, but this record feels like a long lost Pulp record from the 90s which means that i’m inclined to love it no matter what. It’s not perfect but it’s got it’s fair share of bangers, and at the end of the day, is there really ... read more

Ringo Starr - Look Up
44

I love Ringo as much as the next guy but it’s obvious that he doesn’t really stand a chance being solo (excluding his self titled record). The country aspect can be a good bit of fun, but country is also not my thing at all. Is it bad? No. But it’s pretty clear that this record doesn’t do it for me.

KNEECAP - Fine Art
77

I listened to this album only a few days after I discovered the band, having being recommended their film (which is great, by the way). And I instantly fell in love with their band. They’re taking themselves not seriously at all but the motive behind this debut album is serious— that’s the great thing about this album.

This entire record is an incredible balance of pure fun and brilliant lyricism. The Belfast trio deliver social, political commentary throughout the album and ... read more

Fontaines D.C. - Romance
94

Fontaines D.C. came into 2024 off the back of their 2022 release Skinty Fia, and instead of continuing with that sound that brought them their success in the first place, they swerved completely the other way— into the darkness— and this record was the result.

Opener ‘Romance’ is highly cinematic; opening quietly and eerily, before absolutely exploding about halfway in. This song, to me, signifies this massive change in the band’s sound. Frontman Grian Chatten ... read more

The Beach Boys - Pet Sounds
60

As much as I love the Beatles, in fact they’re my favourite band of all time, It’s no secret that there wasn’t a lot of great albums released during the 60s. However, lots of people— critics especially, always rant and rave about this album, so I decided to give it a go. Don’t get me wrong, there’s some incredible songs here— notably opener Wouldn’t It Be Nice or the incredible God Only Knows. Aside from those two, I did not understand the appeal ... read more

Pulp - Different Class
96

Not that often do I really leave large reviews on albums, in fact this might be my first *actual* review on this site, but holy fuck is this album probably one of the most underrated pieces of art. In a time where music in the UK was raving all about the two other biggest bands at the time, Oasis and Blur, Pulp came in with Different Class at the very height of the Britpop phenomenon and ended up with one of the best albums of its time.

First of all, the sound of this album is absolutely ... read more

Various Artists - The Sounds of Earth: Voyager Golden Record

When we make another one of these can we collectively agree to put some real music on here like Tom McDonald or Lil Mabu

¥$ - VULTURES 2

How you can manage to go from GRADUATION and YEEZUS to this absolute pile of shit is absurd. Used to shop at Aldi or whatever. I don’t care man leave me alone

Kendrick Lamar - GNX
55

After the masterpieces known as ‘Good Kid, MAAD City’ and ‘To Pimp A Butterfly’, you’d think Kendrick would have the capability to make something with actual replay value and actual quality? Yeah, you can’t deny this is probably his most boring project by a long way.
