Back in 2025, I was in an extreme album drought; looking for anything rock-related I could, something I could have on repeat for a week. After scrolling and trying dozens of albums, I came across 867, and I have to say, enjoying a jazz-prog album to this extent was not on my bingo card. To be fair, though, this album covers so many bases when it comes to music genres, and it’s so much more than just indie/jazz-rock. The instrumental and production are easily the best part of this album by far. The repetitive rifts in the back shoot hearts into my eardrums on repeat, and I just can’t get enough of it. The variety of instruments is so unique and different compared to other albums I’ve listened to, not to mention the vocalist putting so much effort into this album as well. This is an insanely good album, and is one of the few that have slowly grown on me since my first bare-bones ranking.
