So uh… this album is so loud you could call it a noisehigh… okay I’m sorry. Anyways is it weird that this album makes me feel like I’m listening to breakcore? Look, if an album is noisy and has a great vocal performance, I can’t not like it, and that’s exactly what Robin Callaway does. I don’t know how a guitar works, I’ve never played one in my life, but it absolutely rocks on here, and it takes front stage here, even more so than i saw an angel in the mirror. This project is definitely more post-rock than his previous, but it still has its fair share of singing (and at times screaming). Some of the songs individually don’t do too much for me, like noisepiphany and noise pilgrimage, but they work at building up tone as part of the album. I also find it interesting that, since this is a post-rock album, the songs aren’t longer, and I think noisehigh would’ve really benefitted from longer songs to flesh out the buildup of the sound and instruments. I still love this album though.
