Cameron Winter is making a very strong bid for best living songwriter… and Geese matches his chaos perfectly. Far and away their best
i have never felt so deeply moved by an album before. i feel this one in my bones
grandmother is maybe the song that best exemplifies their strengths as a band- both in message and sound. so unbelievably beautiful
yeah- this is my summer 2025 album and i’m not ashamed to admit it. not a single skip
the weirder she gets, the better she gets. this is absolutely just as good as preacher’s daughter, for reasons that could not be more different.
I am proud to have grown up on the music of Mitski. Why not make your chorus "a whole cake, all for me?" But also, why not put that directly after one of the most touching, poetic sets of lyrics you've ever written? Genius.
i feel like she’s so close to something good- but some of the writing just feels a bit too word salad-y and thrown together. i’m still hoping that she’ll give us something that will really warrant that “visceral” reaction she looks to create so badly.
every song is so gorgeous. i feel like i find a new favorite every month it’s actually kind of crazy. can’t wait for their new stuff.
not a huge fan of slow, reverby music but her storytelling and songwriting (as well as her wonderful voice) really make this album so special and mesmerizing to me. and american teenager is a truly flawless song.
i’ve been loving this album, especially the opening three-track run. need to listen more actively for a more detailed opinion but for right now it’s a great album to get lost in.
while the marketing strategy was a really neat and effective way to draw people in, i think it also doomed the album’s chances of being seen as original, which is a shame because this is halsey’s most inventive and unique work to date. such a harrowing, thought-provoking journey; definitely her best.
really fun, almost skipless album. sabrina’s songwriting gets a lot less credit than it deserves, and she nails most genres and subject matters that she attempts here.
