It's been a while since I heard from Shelley FKA DRAM, ever since the release of his debut album and got a hit with "Broccoli" when he still was DRAM, and this album is a pretty solid return for Shelley. This is a very smooth soul album with DRAM's vocals being as good as always and the production being very clean and concise. SO the high points on this album include the opener, "All Pride Aside" which is a smooth song featuring Summer Walker. "Something About US" is a fantastic Daft Punk cover. "The Lay Down" is super good and features fantastic vocals from H.E.R. I really like the sound of the track "Remedies" because it's more upbeat and I would love to hear more of this style from DRAM. Other than that, the rest if the tracks are decent but nothing special, and overall DRAM shows off his talent, but just needs to add something to make his music stick out from the rest of the soul genre.
