The Vapors - Wasp in a Jar
93

Back in 1980 I sneered at The Vapors referring to them as a "crappy powerpop band". Fast forward back to today and now in my 60's, I think this is marvellous and a breath of musical fresh air to counter the dross that is music today.

Split Dogs - Here to Destroy
92

Love this. Shame it's only 21 minutes long.

Winona Fighter - My Apologies To The Chef
82

Formulaic, it's true, but way above average for the genre

Kim Wilde - Closer
47

Kim's vocals are still extraordinary. Unfortunately, the songs themselves leave much to be desired. Keep the synths, bring in guitars, Get rid of the awful monotonous beat and replace it with conventional drums and imho it could be transformed into a brilliant LP

Larkin Poe - Bloom
81

The more I play this the more I like it!

Lambrini Girls - Who Let the Dogs Out
80

It's taken a few listens, but I've come to really like this album. 👍

Crippled Black Phoenix - Horrific Honorifics Number Two (2)
82

A couple of my favourite songs covered on this album so how could I not like it?

Linkin Park - From Zero
95

Putting aside the previous classic offerings from Linkin Park, and concentrating specifically on From Zero, I wasn't too impressed at first hearing.
Half a dozen plays later and I absolutely love it.

Peter Perrett - The Cleansing
78

Lyrically excellent, musically too but his vocal style becomes a little monotonous over the full album

Amyl and the Sniffers - Cartoon Darkness
97

Release of the year so far.

Real Friends - Blue Hour
60

Formulaic pop punk. About average.

FIDLAR - Surviving the Dream
85

A decent fun punk album

Nick Lowe - Indoor Safari
NR

Comfortable, easy to listen to and enjoyable.

Moggs Motel - Moggs Motel
85

Excellent blues based rock from UFO co-founder Phill Mogg

Paris Hilton - Infinite Icon
NR

I usually only comment on preferred genres as I believe to do otherwise is unfair to the artist. Unless, ofc, it's particularly good.
I chose to listen to this LP simply because of the terrible reviews, thinking "It can't be that bad". It is.

Kasabian - Happenings
NR

Gets better with multiple listens. Still mostly unexciting though. (I kept nodding off)

Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats - South of Here
87

Not as good as their first album but better than the disappointing second.

The Warning - Keep Me Fed
85

Old style rock album. Singing rather than growling or screaming. It'll never be classed as a classic but I don't care, I've enjoyed listening to it this afternoon

Johnny Cash - Songwriter
85

It's Johnny Cash. Easy listening and harmonious. Lyrically lacking a punch as his latter day religious themes dominate but, you know, it's Johnny Cash and I could stream this all day.
