I only got into Mac later in his career and this project feels like the perfect bridging point between what I fell in love with and what I missed out on. One of the best to ever do it. Cried on the bus
It kind of came and went for me with very little sticking, but it's not bad at all
Sometimes punk just isn't for me, it's a bit too on the nose lyrically despite trying to capture some important (if dated) topics and the production is way too clean for it to come off as wild as it intends to be
This album is fun and has a liveliness to it, but the softer moments on Mntanmi were my favourtite, wish we got more of those. I also think she towed the provocative line very well aside from I Love People, that felt a bit off for me. Overall really enjoyable and dare I say an underrated hidden gem
This was my first vinyl to get and it used to be my favourite 1975 album. As time goes on I still love it but it's always a toss up between this and self titled for my fav record by them
Top Tier Album, one of the best to ever do it.
P.S. You Make Loving Fun might be one of the most criminally underrated songs of all time. Top Tier Album, one of the best to ever do it.
easy and enjoyable listening, I just wish it gave a bit more than his previous work
Waiting for people to tell me I don't get it.... dawg what is there to get? it's slow droning ambient noises with muffled vocals (sometimes) spliced in.
I trudged through this album, but unfortunately it just isn't for me... It's unsettling and atmospheric, but the idea that you have to look for hidden depth in an album that is 90% ambient music is a bit of a stretch imo, and even if I did enjoy it I couldn't in my life see me revisiting the album, as it has very ... read more
I don't think it's bad, but I can't understand how you can do the same thing over and over again and think it will be new and exciting every time... There are some standout tracks here, the first three track run in particular is super enjoyable. I really liked so sorry, and Stuff with Travis Scott is great, but even with a dialed back 41 minute run time, the album still feels bloated....
I held off on this for soooo long because I want the right circumstances for first listen and while it didn’t disappoint it did have a lot of hype to live up to. I think it’s amazing but I don’t think it’s near aoty
While it’s not in rotation as much recently it’s still some peak peak msuic, it’s nice to see another piece of the puzzle that is Tyler and it was such a nice surprise to end the year
It’s strange because I revisit the remix album more than this but still an undeniable banger
it's just a bit very disappointing? but I know there is potential between the more hip hop orientated R&B, and the full blown soul tracks like i hate to be alone. I'd just like a bit more of a fleshed out project? but yeah... disappointing.
When I listened to the EP not long ago I was so happy to hear that there was a full project waiting for me, and boy do I love noise pop/rock while I work. I think it is on the very edge of some of the catchiest songs known to man, while maintaining the lethargy akin to some early albums from the Strokes. W
