It's a shame that so many good songs are left to the end of this record because the runtime is so long at 1h 15m.
That's not to say that the songs are bad before that, every song on this album is really great but I think the album is a bit too bloated and a lot of songs feel out of place despite being so great. Kendrick sacrifices lyricism for production and commercial appeal on this one, and it's a bit underwhelming.
It feels as though there are only three songs Kendrick really put his heart into: reincarnated, heart pt.6 and gloria. A lot of the other tracks on the album have a more commercial feel, focussing on memorability and mainstream success leading to a project that overall pales in comparison to his best works.
