'The only way I'm comin' back to you is if you're dreaming, lucid'
Maroon 5 are extremely inconsistent, especially with their solo stuff, but I've actually been impressed with their collaborations like this one. The vocals from Adam Levine are above average as they're not some of the best I've heard from him but still serve their purpose, especially on the chorus, while Megan's vocals are magnificent bringing some of her spectacular rapping vocals but blowing me away with her stunning singing which she's significantly improved on, something that I hope she'll continue to work on. blackbear handled the production and even though it's a bit plain, I feel like it really suited Maroon 5 in a strong way while additionally allowing Megan Thee Stallion to fit quite well which was pleasant to hear. The lyrics are great with the usual underwhelming but catchy chorus while Megan showed off her talent with bars. 'Memories' is probably one of Maroon 5's worst songs so seeing them come up with a super good single is lovely to see, hope they keep up the good work! Overall, 'Beautiful Mistakes' is a slight comeback for Maroon 5 as they retry the 'Girls Like You' formula with Megan Thee Stallion and it obviously works.
