'INDUSTRY BABY' is Lil Nas X's fourth single so far for his upcoming album and it marks his first collaboration with Jack Harlow, while Kanye West and Take a Daytrip are credited as producers for the track, with the song being nothing special as it's just a solid track. Lil Nas X's vocals fit the beat much better than I imagined as his vocals really sink into the the trombone, working well, while Jack Harlow chooses to ride on the beat and not drown in it like Lil Nax X which sounds wonderful in his own way, not sounding too dry like he often does on features as the trombone prevents that from happening to some extent. The production from a Take a Daytrip and Kanye West feels very generic as I've heard so many songs with a similar trombone instrumental, while the drums, excluding the kicks, sound tremendous and really raw which I liked. The lyrics on the track are below average as they're basically about him blowing up which I guess is kinda generic coming from Lil Nax X as he's rapped about much more interesting topics, with this being messy structurally, while the flows are additionally not crisp and come off weirdly at times. Feel like Jack Harlow's feature is heavily overhated and that he actually put in an outstanding verse, with his chemistry with Lil Nas X being decent too. Enjoyed 2/4 of the singles so much, hyping me up for the album as I feel like Lil Nas X's rollout has been great so far, excluding the fact that it started in October of last year, hoping that the album is dropping soon. Overall, 'INDUSTRY BABY' is an interesting banger that's got good chemistry between both artists as they rap about how they blew up and their following success, just being a fun track.
