Never been a huge fan of Conan Grey but I do not understand how the rating of this song is so low as 'Overdrive' is outstanding in all aspects, with the track being a tremendous refresh. Conan Grey sounds great, putting a perfect amount of effort into his vocals, coming out with some excellent melodies in the process. The production is groovy and the work done on the chorus is wonderful as it gives of a retro feeling that I know has been overused quite a bit in recent times, but is beautiful on ... read more

'CLOUDS' is a single to NF's upcoming mixtape with the same name and I think that I this is a spectacular, creative change. NF's vocals were determined and he clearly was filled with a fantastic amount of confidence, destroying the beat completely. The beat was kinda basic although it wasn't very clear cause the production was designed to be extremely cinematic, sounding like something that I'd hear in a trailer for a movie. The lyrics were actually good too as he discussed how people doubt him ... read more

'You got all of the same tools all the greats have had, Two eyes, two ears, one mouth, two hands'
I haven't listened to a lot of JID in the past other than on a few features, with 'Skeegee' being the first single I've heard from him. JID's vocals sound wonderful as he sounds so slick and flows smoothly for the entirety of the track. The production is relaxing as it uses a sample to create an old-school effect along with some average drums that could've been a lot better. The lyrics are super ... read more

'I don't beef with Gerbers, he a baby, goo-goo, ga-ga-ga'
I'm supposed to be sleeping but I saw this so I came back to review it and it's actually great, not sure if it's because I'm really tired though. 6IX9INE's vocals are energetic which is what makes them excellent on the track, something that is extremely unexpected. The production is pretty good as it contains something similar to 'GOOBA', being maybe a little worse. The lyrics are below average as 6IX9INE really doesn't say anything ... read more

'Go Crazy (Remix)' drops almost a year after the original version of the track dropped and it's really refreshing, reminds me of why I liked the track when it originally dropped. Chris Brown sounds strong on the hook, Lil Durk sounds the best on the track with some extremely emotional vocals as he switches up his pitch often on his verse, Mulatto sounds cool but a slightly off compared to the other artists, and with Future sounding fantastic as he provides a verse where he adds so much variety ... read more

Coi Leray drops the remix to her breakout single, 'No More Parties', which was one of the few songs in a while that Tik Tok didn't blow up and grew naturally on its own. Coi Leray sounds really good as she shows off her vocal abilities as whenever she goes high, it's amazing, while Lil Durk brings in some of his magnificent melodic vocals that I haven't heard in a while. The production from Maaly Raw is really different to what he's done before for artists as he uses a piano instrumental along ... read more

Lil Yachty is back to proving that he can rap and it's getting really annoying as he has so much more talent than what's shown on his last few releases. Lil Yachty's vocals sound super bad and I wonder why he's not using his autotune-like vocals to his advantage and instead sounding like an uninteresting robot while Kodak Black sounds okay, although not as good as he has in his last two releases. The production is pretty bad too as I've felt like I've heard the same instrumental in every song ... read more

'3, 2, 1' just feels like a copy of his last two singles and isn't interesting enough to really stand out from them. 24kGoldn's vocals are a lot worse from the last two tracks, as he chooses to not bring any energy at all other than on the chorus, ending up being extremely boring. The production is probably the best part of the song as it's produced by many wonderful producers including Nick Mira, Omer Fedi, and Rio Leyva, but even they can't really save the song with some wonderful drums along ... read more

I thought I'd take this time to thank as many friends as possible for their support on AOTY! Lots of you have made me feel a lot better when I wasn't feeling well and any positive messages in my shoutbox make me feel fantastic! Relationships with my friends in real life haven't been the best and are really rocky at the moment, but whenever I visit the website, I'm reminded that they're no longer the only friends I have! AOTY has helped me a ton in fighting problems in my mind as it takes my ... read more

Happy Birthday @cold! :)
'Calling My Phone' was one of the most hyped snippets in a while and I was one of the few who thought that it was a very underwhelming snippet but after listening to the entire song and the addition of 6LACK, I love the song. Lil Tjay sounds drained and destroyed, soothing my mind in a tremendous way while 6LACK comes in with such his satisfying vocals which are perfect for this song as he matches the mood in a magnificent way, using some amazing ad-libs to enhance the ... read more

'VVS on my gums, ain't no tooth fake'
I'm not sure if Lil Gnar is getting better or if he's just growing on me but I find this track to be a fantastic song, showing a slight improvement as he chooses to add a bit of variety after getting super stale in the last two tracks, repeating lines and sounding really boring. Lil Gnar's vocals are vicious and exactly how I want them to sound as his confidence sounds wonderful and was a factor that he was lacking a lot in the last two tracks while Trippie ... read more

Doe Boy is back after his collaboration project with Southside, getting a second Lil Uzi Vert feature in the period of just a couple of months. The vocals from Doe Boy are decent, being a lot less annoying than they have been in the past while Lil Uzi Vert sounds wonderful, bringing some beautiful old Uzi vibes that I find outstanding, especially sounding excellent with his occasional ad-libs. The production is perfect ... read more

'Run into me, I'm a rebel like Rowdy'
Rowdy Rebel drops his first official single under his name along with NAV and even though it's nothing too special, it's still good. Rowdy Rebel sounds really rough while flowing really well, combining both factors in a creative way while NAV's robotic vocals surprisingly sounds really good as it fits the track in a wonderful way. The production from Pro Logic is pretty bad, being below average as it's sounds so similar to any other drill beat but being a ... read more

Taylor Swift starts to release re-recorded songs, with 'Love Story (Taylor's Version)' being the first single and the song brings back so many memories. Taylor Swift sounds so much more mature on the new version, with slight adjustments at places sounding spectacular and making the song a lot more special to me. The production on the song is perfect as the instrumental feels a lot more fleshed out than any of the tracks on 'folklore' and 'evermore', sticking to the new natural theme that I love ... read more

Madison Beer drops a single before her debut album, collaborating with Surf Mesa who went viral with 'ily' last year. Madison's vocals on the track are magnificent as she changes the intensity of her vocals at all the right moments, making the entire song a lot more interesting, which helps the track a ton as the lyrics are filled with repetition. The production is pretty good and I feel like Surf Mesa gets overhated for his beats, but he's actually amazing at some aspects such as the build up ... read more

Pooh Shiesty drops his debut mixtape called 'Shiesty Season', something that I was surprisingly looking forward to as his come up in the industry was very fast and he seemed to be creating fantastic bangers. I was expecting this mixtape to be excellent, filled with fun bangers that would hype you up at any time of the day, even when you're really really tired, and while this mixtape turned out to fit the theme of trying to create hype, it didn't create enough of it to even get me excited when ... read more

'CANCELLED' is a cool collaboration between slowthai and Skepta, two rappers that show some really strong chemistry on this song. slowthai's vocals are above average as they don't seem to fit the track as well as Skepta's thick, wonderful vocals that seamlessly merge with the beat in a magnificent way. The production is above average as I don't like it as much as the beat on 'MAZZA', especially because the instrumental isn't very interesting with the special effects doing most of the work and ... read more

'Diamonds on my neck, I'm feelin' cool '
I might be biased, but I actually love this track, even though I don't like Smokepurpp a lot in general. Smokepurpp's vocals were listenable and actually sounded amazing at times while using a refreshing melodic style while Lil Mosey sounded surprisingly lacking without his lovely vocals which were instead very weird on his verse The production is pretty good, maybe a little too generic but it's still great for the two artists to slide on. The lyrics are ... read more

'In that storm, I was stuck where it's rainy at, If they owe me respect, gotta pay me that'
Polo G's return to the Chicago drill style is disappointing as it's been a while since I've heard him make anything like this and he seems to have lost a tiny bit of his touch. Polo G.'s vocals are inconsistent, especially on the chorus as it seems unique but forms an underwhelming end product instead of something exciting. The piano production is pretty bad as I'm just so bored of Polo G. rapping on ... read more

DC The Don tries to brand himself as the Rag3 Kidd after dropping 'Come as You Are' and the deluxe to it, and it just doesn't live up to my expectations. DC The Don's vocals sound average as they certainly did a significantly better job at hiding the high amount of autotune that he uses, although I feel like he's lowered his tone by a ton which isn't a wonderful decision to make, as his loud yelling was what kept his music interesting, with him drifting off towards a more melodic approach on ... read more
