Cold Heart is such great modern day dance cover to the original song and it definitely earned a nice place in my playlists but rest of the album was a bit weaker at times.
Great album. Amazing popular hit songs that stands out with their characteristic, authentic sounds and melodies. No fillers, short, brief and a fun and deeper album to listen to. One of the best ones.
He has never been a lyrical, contentful guy but this doesn't have the hits, the sounds and the melodies that would stuck on your mind and you mumble all the time constantly. Full of features, songs sounding very similar to each other. Nothing stands out playing this front to back. Dissapointing.
I normally don't vote for the ones I didn't listen to fully but this one was hard to sit through even when I was working on something and playing this in the background. I'M not feeling this, sorry.
Is it me or at this point, anything Drake drops exactly the same and recycled ? At least I used to appreciate his single hits and identify them with some properties they had but nowadays i can't even see the difference between his very popular hits and not so much popular songs, they all sound very similar and i have no idea what make those hits stand out instead of the the ones that don't.
Return of the Dre is much needed. Wish he would bless us with a full project.
Well, just check my comment on The Chronic and you'll see what I'm all about. But to add to that, I gotta say this album always felt better to me with shorter songs with amazing beats that standing out. This shit can be played in hip hop themed house party front to back and some might say "wow, what the fuck is that shit, I never heard that" and be blown away by the beatdrops, hard bumping basses and hard hitting snares with simplistic, crisp melodies.
The birth of that Westside, G Funk Dre trademark sound. Is there more iconic song than Nuthin' But A G Thang in hip hop ? Maybe Still Dre lmao. Timeless classic.
Tell me you didn't feel the presence of Dre in this album. I mean it's not like you'd immediately say this is Dre like you do on Chronic or 2001 but it's an album that wouldn't surprise you to learn Dre was behind all the executive desk in this one. It's just full of quality verses, hooks, melodies over special beats. Btw, Anderson Paak kinda stole the show in this one, gotta say.
I can already consider this one a classic. Amazing writing, amazing content mixed with timeless musical experience.
Ohh this is such a classic for me. I don't think they ever sounded better than this. The numbness, the psycholdelic, dreamy vibes of Instant Crush, funky, groovy and makes you wanna dance and move vibes of Get Lucky, Lose Yourself To Dance are the types of tracks that would be created rarely. There was a magic when they were creating this album.
"Amazing, groovy, easy-on-the-ears EP. My only complaint is I wish it was longer!" says lapuissancedelamusic
I agree.
Eminem at his best. Every verse he has is magical there. Beats he touched are awesome and even the ones they just picked were beautiful. Revelation is something to remember here but it's full of gems anyway.
