FAVORITE TRACK: Not a Love Song
LEAST FAVORITE TRACK: Need It To Work
Although many of the vocal moments seem to be very much in the realm of Lana Del Rey and Fiona Apple, SASAMI's SQUEEZE does an amazing job at creating times of dark and brooding metal music. Skin a Rat, Sorry Entertainer and Squeeze are all loud, fast-paced and, frankly, terrifying.
SASAMI also does an incredible job of combining this alternative country sound throughout her album, like on Make It Right and Not a Love ... read more

LEAST FAVORITE TRACK: Every Rule
CRASH is a party. Over the past few years, Charli XCX's sound has evolved from this bubblegum-earworm pop to this catchy and intense sound we haven't really heard in pop music since the days of stars like Christina and Britney.
Charli XCX is able to take simple concepts and make them into these fun "Girls Just Want to Have Fun" anthems. Tracks like Beg For You and Good Ones are these sexy dance tracks. Baby has one of the best ... read more
FAVORITE TRACK: Running Away
LEAST FAVORITE TRACK: Dirt on the Bed
This is a really well-made art pop record. Cate Le Bon has wonderful vocals and it's apparent on tracks like Wheel and Pompeii. The instrumentals are subtle in comparison to Le Bon's leading voice but that great guitar on Remembering Me is a real standout. Running Away is so catchy and the build up to the climax with the trumpets is just exceptional.
FAVORITE TRACK: Love Me More
LEAST FAVORITE TRACK: There's Nothing Left Here for You
I'm a really big Mitski fan (and I was before she blew up on TikTok don't ever get it twisted I was 11 listening to Townie). But, for some reason, I wasn't really looking forward to this and I didn't listen to any of the singles. Then I saw no one talking about it on social media which deterred me from listening to it even more. But here I am now!
I actually really like this album. The best parts of this ... read more

Black Country, New Road moves on from the intensity of For the first time to create its sister project- a sweeping and emotionally gorgeous album that fully pushes the band's sound to its limits.
Ants From Up There's most impressive inclusion is the instrumentals from the seven-piece. The build up to the cathartic moments on this album are genius- like the end of Basketball Shoes, Bread Song or The Place Where ... read more

LEAST FAVORITE TRACK: Sick!
I'm not crazy about this. It's not bad by any means but it doesn't feel like a complete project from Earl Sweatshirt. It moves really fast with a lot of these songs being forgotten right after hearing them. Maybe another listen and I'll enjoy it more but this just feels too rushed as a whole project.
FAVORITE TRACK: lightbeamers
LEAST FAVORITE TRACK: minds of men
No thoughts, just vibes.
CAPRISONGS is 17 tracks of FKA twigs' just feeling herself. Although every song may not be memorable, they're chill and easy to listen to. Some of these tracks have great instrumentals like ride the dragon, jealousy, pamplemousse and lightbeamers. Other tracks are led by twigs' vocals like on meta angel and tears in the club. The features on this are pretty with the Jorja Smith and Unknown T feature ... read more

LEAST FAVORITE TRACK: None!
I absolutely adore Mia Berrin's voice. I was blown away by the release of Death of a Cheerleader in 2021 and checking out Ow- it's clear Pom Pom Squad has a clear aesthetic led by Berrin's strong vocals and lonely lyrics. The guitars on this are strong and 90s inspired like on Heavy Heavy and Honeysuckle. The droney and hurt sound of Again is devastating and beautiful as well as the slower and more lyric-based track Cherry ... read more

LEAST FAVORITE TRACK: Is There Someone Else?
I've never been a big fan of The Weeknd and this doesn't necessarily change anything for me but this is my favorite album I've heard by him for sure.
The greatest part of Dawn FM is its use on synthpop. Gasoline, How Do I Make You Love Me? and Don't Break My Heart have incredibly catchy instrumentals that are used wonderfully by the different styles of singing The Weeknd does on each track. His voice is different on each ... read more

Listening to this with the giant green beetle I summoned while smoking that evil wizard pack. He loves it!

LEAST FAVORITE TRACK: Snowdancer
Kill Bill is a Youtuber/rapper I've been following for awhile now. He had a killer year last year with his counterpart Rav, putting out the duet project SKIN and featuring on Rav's I'm on to Me, but I've never been crazy about Bill on his own. Snowglobe Theory doesn't necessarily change that take for me.
The production on this is great. The chill, vaporwave and spacey instrumentals sound great on tracks like A While, Ring Ring and ... read more

I thought this was fun. MAY-A has a really wonderful voice.
FAVORITE TRACK: Baby Teeth
LEAST FAVORITE TRACK: Emily Can't Sing
Emily Can't Sing is an indie pop release similar to Wallows, Briston Maroney and really any of those Lorem Spotify playist songs. But dammit it's fun!!!

The coolest album ever I fear
FAVORITE TRACK: Born Under Punches
LEAST FAVORITE TRACK: None
I had to write a paper on Once in a Lifetime for a class last week. I listened to that song a minimum of 22 times and it never got old. Godspeed.
FAVORITE TRACK: Capsizing
LEAST FAVORITE TRACK: Purge
A really striking and loud first release from this Boston four piece. The intense guitar riffs really add charm to this EP, I also love this album cover.
FAVORITE TRACK: Confluence
LEAST FAVORITE TRACK: Lord Jesus
Vol. 1 by The Hellp relies on the influence of a ton of artists but is overall a very endearing album. There's definitely influence from Sonic Youth which you can hear on Confluence and specifically the influence of Kim Gordon on Beacon 002. Feel sounds like a HMLTD song- and I'm like 90% sure the lead singer of that band is on it but I'm not sure.
The most intriguing part of this album is the mix of electronic sound and rap at ... read more
