Rema - Calm down
NR
The instrumental on this song weirdly manages to make me very very emotional.

Damn. An aoty user making drone music? Well that's surprising. What's even more surprising is how ConcreteCastles actually made a good drone album. It's not great or mind-blowing, but drone is a genre that is extremely difficult to fully understand and even more difficult to make decent music within the genre. It must've been a really challenging process for ConcreteCastles, but their great understanding of what is a good drone album and what qualities should drone music have definitely helped ... read more
MALNEEZY - Nonmusique

Thank you Malneezy for sending me the link. This is quite an interesting EP. I could hear a wide variety of influences in this one but none of the songs could be considered unoriginal or anything. It's obvious they're still testing out the waters and I can say, there's talent and skill there, but what needs to be added, in my opinion, is a bit more emotion, a theme and an identity to the whole of the songs.

Losing Lustre - Losing Lustre

Interesting experimentations, apparent influences, inconsistent vocals, lack of lyrical strength, and much potential.
Sachiko M, Toshimaru Nakamura & Otomo Yoshihide - Good Morning Good Night

After giving this monstrous album many listens I can say....my ears still hurt a lot
GAS - Der Lange Marsch

step 1: gather some random samples from your past work
step 2: bass boost and beep
step 3: call it your last album and say it is supposed to tie all your past work together
step 4: profit
Concrete Castles - The Densest Fog
57
It's a good album but the first 2 tracks are yawn inducing.
Keith Rowe - The Room
84
it starts very slowly and boringly; gets more interesting and creative and tense after a while and by the end it's eargasm. A good chunk of it was still very enjoyable for me.
Jeff Mills - @ Wire '03

WHAT EVEN
This man is beyond insane! literally 113 minutes of outstanding techno.
Jesu - Jesu
72
Very warm, colossal and slow. Makes you want to go to the desert in a sandstorm and listen to this on full volume. The repetitious nature of the album can be a bit too much at times and sometimes makes the experience not as great.
Autechre - Confield

Probably as weird as IDM gets. Very inaccessible but so meticulously produced that you can't at least admire it. The sound is one of a kind with how cold, complex and glitchy yet funky and confident it is and the atmosphere, oh god the atmosphere is so disturbing yet so calm and melancholic. Don't really know how to explain it better.
This Heat - This Heat

After hearing deceit I was disappointed as it was very well received but felt boring specially in the first half. But their sound was interesting enough for me to give them another shot by listening to another one of their acclaimed albums. And I'm quite glad I did. They're much more abrasive and out there on this album and the sound pallette is varied enough to not make you bored like deceit. It's also extremely well mixed and very impressive for the time.
This Heat - Deceit

Nothing's weird if everything is weird. Literally any element of this album is so absurd that it becomes repetitive for them to be weird but I have to give it points for keeping this sound for so long without becoming too tedious.
Various Artists - Pomegranates – Persian Pop, Funk, Folk, and Psych Of The 60s & 70s

Some of the most cliche and boring iranian pop songs I've ever heard. Still better than almost all of modern pop music of this place tho.
Vasiliy Kashnikov - Pathologic 2: Soundtrack

I remember someone said: the music of this game feels like genghis khan made an industrial trip hop album and they couldn't have been more accurate.
The Books - Thought For Food

Kind of reminds me of can. Obviously not as good as those guys but still a very fascinating mix of folk, experimental, electroacoustic and sound collage. It shouldn't feel this natural and specially catchy (not always) as it does. I also have to give a huge shout-out to the mix. My god are these sounds so pleasant to hear.
RefraQ - RUK

I love this song so much.
Travis Scott - Rodeo

A mixed bag. Some tracks are really good (Pornography, 90210, Nightcrawler) and some of them are extremely boring (Oh My Dis Side, Piss On Your Grave). Overall it's probably the best purely trap album I'll ever enjoy this much.
Craig Hamilton - Caves of Qud Soundtrack

A bland soundtrack filled with smart small ideas thrown here and there. The atmosphere it builds is good though.
my bloody valentine - loveless

An extremely fuzzy, unbelievably beautiful and painfully emotional album that is quite like nothing I've ever heard even in the shoegaze genre.
