Avenade - Here's to the Prejudice

It isn’t all that common to find an EP from and up and coming rock artist that really establishes itself as an overall solid effort, and Avenade’s project does just that. While there aren’t any groundbreaking techniques or styles going on, the riffs and vocals are pretty darn catchy. The noisy production and effects really lend itself well to the punk style this album goes for. While this album is able to stand firmly on its own, there are a few things that drag it down. A few songs, mainly “Indulge Yourself”, have vocal melodies, delivery, and effects that fall a little flat as well as some instances of the noisy production becoming too noisy. Another gripe of mine is that songs like “Honestly” and “Wilkerson” sound a bit like traditional punk songs and don’t really have the color that the other songs do.
With all that being said, this album is pretty energetic and fun to listen to even though it has its faults. I’d recommend it.
