Radiohead - Kid A

Kid A’s contrast of electronic and organic instrumentation is one of the most well executed and interesting use of dynamics I’ve heard in a while. The floaty textures of synths and other digital sounds do well to compliment the steady and often melancholic instrumentation of the band. The album also not only has clean mixing, but the transitions from track to track is very fluid and natural, which makes the entire listening experience feel very cohesive. However, I’m not a big fan of the lyrics and it’s not because I don’t “get them”, but rather because they don’t stick out to me that much. That being said, I really enjoy this album. I don’t think it’s a perfect album, but it is a beautiful experience nonetheless.

Favorite tracks: “The National Anthem”, “How To Disappear Completely”, “Optimistic”, “Motion Picture Soundtrack”
