Fishmans - 98.12.28 男達の別れ [98.12.28 Otokotachi no Wakare]

男達の別れ, which translates to Farewell of Men, is the most beautiful album ever composed. I don't care it's a live album, it's one of the best albums ever made. Released 9 months after the performance at the Akasaka Bliss, this recording of Fishmans' final live performance as a band is a beautiful neo-psychedelic experience with influences ranging from dub and reggae, to stunning dream pop. MGMT - Loss of Life

80 ----------> 91

Loss of Life paints an atmosphere like a cloudy afternoon that turns into heavy rain as you walk through a field. When you're in a scene like that, that's when the album really clicks.

Favorites - Bubblegum Dog, Loss Of Life, Nothing Changes, Mother Nature, Phradie's Song, People In The Streets
Least favorites - Dancing In Babylon

I don't think an album has lost me as much as this one has. Maybe it'll grow on me as the year goes by.

It got worse. It's just commercial, overproduced dance punk with vocals that don't in the slightest bit fit the instrumentals.

Favorites - Gritter's Grief, Dream Job, Petroleum
Least favorites - Blackpool Illuminations, Down By the Stream, A Vineyard for the North

Weezer - Pinkerton

Pinkerton is raw and personal. That's what everyone says about the album and there really isn't much more to say. Probably the grower of the century for everyone in the 90s, and me.

Favorites - El Scorcho, Falling For You, Tired Of Sex, Why Bother, No Other One, Getchoo, Pink Triangle, The Good Life
Least favorites - Across The Sea, Butterfly
