Tallies - Tallies

Bouncy and bright in its jingle gangly twee delight, it's a shame that the music took such a dramatic shift away from the brilliance of the opening track, Trouble. Sarah Cogan's vox is at times grating; essentially ill-paired for Echoplex treatment given its tendency towards shrill. Yet, it does hold some promise. Interestingly enough, the Line of Best Fit review terms her voice as angelic. Seriously? Maybe with repeat listens this record will rank better for me. However, my long teeth have me feeling... Well, a bit cautious. Here’s my suggestion. Available on Bandcamp [ https://handdrawndracula.bandcamp.com/album/tallies ]. This is where, again, I fall cleanly on my DERIVATIVE sword. I'll close with this caveat: If you haven't got a decent stereo set-up this shrill recording will sound so eff'ng tinny your ear holes will bleed. Use it to clear a room. Tah!
