Mini Review: Best engineering I’ve heard all year. Kenny and Kev made every aspect of this record so crisp. Plus the instrumentalists here give it their all, especially the stand-up bassist. On top of it all, Milo drops some of his most entertaining verses since ‘So the Flies Don’t Come.’ All around, a phenomenal jazz rap release that isn’t entirely abstract, but the verses give it that feel.

I would have to make a video essay to fully express everything I love about this album. Hell, I could probably make a video for every song. There’s so much content and context to dive into and pick apart. But I’ll try my best.

TL;DR of my thoughts: This album has a simple but realistic and grounded concept that doesn’t overstay its welcome. At only 35 minutes, ‘The Neon Skyline’ tells its story concisely while still being entertaining and never straying too far ... read more

2020 is off to an outrageously strong start. This is my second 9/10, and it’s not even the end of January. Amazing.

Mini Review:

As a Floyd album, this project is like a 5 or 6/10, but as a soundtrack, this kicks all kinds of ass. Let me tell you why.

Per your usual Floyd record, ‘More’ is just as trippy as the movie it’s in; however, unlike the rest of the band’s discography, the soundtrack is mostly forgotten to time alongside its film counterpart—a sad reality, given it has the best lyricism of any ‘60s album from the band. Songs like “Cirrus Mirror” and ... read more

Mini Review:

I can’t believe I’m only getting around to this project now. I’m at a loss for words, honestly. I’ve no idea how much ’Solace’ would have drained from me emotionally if I hadn’t already fallen in love with ‘Some Rap Songs.’ This is a tragedy piece, highlighting when Earl’s relationship with his mother was at perhaps it’s most sour point, having him on the brink as he had no one to turn to. And wow, it’s ... read more

Send Kal3n metal, hip hop, and rap albums. Oh, and thanks for the follow!

Supp! I'm doing a challenge at the moment, the "out of my comfort-zone challenge". This is a challenge where I need to listen projects, I normally wouldn't listen too. After some listen I need to state my opinions in a review. If you would suggest an album to me, it would be great! As long as they aren't metal, hip hop or rap! (experimental/abstract hip hop, weird rap is allowed though)
