While the boy band’s sophomore effort is incredibly enjoyable, it would be a lie to say its not top and bottom heavy. The first four songs and final three are the LP’s best. Everything in between—though still good—feels like filler in comparison. The group would go on to trim the fat on their next two releases, but it’s worth giving this a try regardless. While ‘All-American Trash’ was BROCKHAMPTON’s first project, ‘SATURATION’ feels like the true starting point and is a necessary listen. Not to mention it’s got many of the band’s best songs (“HEAT,” “GOLD,” “STAR,” “FACE,” “WASTE”).
