Jeff Buckley - Grace
95

OOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHH BOYYYYYYYYY. Jeff Buckley were do I begin. Let this album be my brush, and a six-pack or mercury's sitting in fridge be the paint, finally, the direct messages section on Instagram be my canvas. This album is truly incredible, and I used to hate on it, for literally no reason. I didn't even listen to it and now I have it on vinyl. Music is a subjective thing, it's not very often there are things taken as hard facts, especially regarding individual opinions. ... read more

Lizzy McAlpine - Give Me A Minute

Imma keep it a buck fiddy' (that's slang for 150%, which I will refrain using from this point on), I only listened to this album because a girl recommended it. That's actually the whole reason this account exists, but, she was onto something because this is incredibly fun, and this album was quite an enjoyable listening experience. Did I understand the messages that were being portrayed through the songs? Uhhh, I think so. Or maybe they entirely went over my head because I simply ... read more

The Beatles - Abbey Road

Abbey Road truly is incredible, such a shame it's in England. The other major flaw with this album? Why, the presence of John Lennon of course. However, if we somehow manage to really separate the art from the artist here, this remains one of the most incredible and influential albums I've ever listened to. From trippin' to genuinely sitting down and enjoy the music, this album has never let me down. While some songs were weird, they were by no means bad or lacking in production. ... read more

The Smiths - Hatful of Hollow

The Smiths, or to give them their full name, "that one band from 100 days of summer". I found that joke funny, but also telling, that film was a soul crushing, devastating movie, similar to this album. The songs are incredible, and very relatable, as I too wonder what life would be like if a double decker bus crashed into myself and my partner. Hopefully it's a campus shuttle-bus, as then we are free from the crippling debt incurred from simply trying to achieve a tertiary ... read more

Kanye West - Late Registration

"ThIs AlBumS RaTIng IsNt aN IntERVal ofF 5". Shut up man, I make the rules here, ok. Me.

Now that we have found ourselves past that little conundrum, this album receives the rating it does because it's the album I find most enjoyable to listen, yet I can acknowledge it isn't perfect. This album to me, is where sampling peaked, and as someone who would spread their legs wide open for a good sample, this album just does it for me. Incredible mixing, incredible quality, ... read more

Lana Del Rey - Norman Fucking Rockwell!
95

Lana Del Rey, from the moment I laid my eyes upon you and opened my ears to your voice during your 2014 Glastonbury set, I knew I was destined to be a skinny white twink who posts your songs on their instagram notes to impress woman who couldn't care less. Let it be known, I don't do that, the note posting part at least. This album is truly incredible, it makes you laugh, it makes you cry, not me though, as crying would stain my feminist literature that I read in local coffee shops ... read more

Metro Boomin - METRO BOOMIN PRESENTS SPIDER-MAN: ACROSS THE SPIDER-VERSE (SOUNDTRACK FROM AND INSPIRED BY THE MOTION PICTURE)
100

This will be my most controversial rating ever, undoubtedly. However, this may be the only album I can safely say has no skips or no songs that drag out too long, without lying to myself. To top it all off, it paired incredibly with a piece of film so rich in quality it will be remembered for generations to come. Like I said, I get it if you don't like this album as much as me, but to hate on the fact that somebody can find this album a perfect 100? Get a life loser, get out of the house ... read more

A$AP Rocky - TESTING
80

Arguably his shortest album, or maybe it isn't that arguable. I wouldn't know, I don't remember album lengths like that. However, while ASAP may have his life sorted out, and his dashingly good looks, unfortunately this album slipped a tad bit from his previous work. Don't get me wrong, not bad at all, very enjoyable listening experience. Incredible samples and the like, just unfortunately a few more misses then normal. Please drop the new album ASAP, I miss kissing your ... read more

The Strokes - The New Abnormal
90

Oh boy, oh boy, where do I begin. The Strokes, a name coincidentally fitting to the action that listening to this album makes me want to perform. This album was another classic by Julian Casablancas, my favourite nepo baby. It was really almost a perfect album aside from maybe 1-2 songs, but even then those aren't at all bad, just songs that require a certain mood to enjoy. I don't think I will ever get tired of this album. Once again, thank you Julian and the gang.

For 530 days, the world was plunged into a state of darkness and uncertainty. Then, on the 531st day, light was restored upon the world listening to the beat drop of Father Stretch My Hands, Pt. 1 for the first time, and that was after an incredibly personal opening song. Some view this album as a mess a unrelated sounds and songs, unfortunately for them, those people are stupid. An album with different themes in their songs is not a bad album, just one that doesn't aim to follow a linear ... read more
