It's actually not that bad. Felt like lost media with how hard it was to try finding the lyrics (couldn't). It has some good highlights but overall it's just a good listen. Nothing more, nothing less.
So, this is technically the first JPEGMAFIA project... I wasn't expecting this. Compared to his Devon Hendryx era, this was a lot more simple and was actually more lyric focused than any of his Devon projects. The themes he chooses are controversial and sometimes a little bit corny, but you can't deny his hunger, his energy and his production being amazing.
Kanye's best mixtape, since it mainly contains remixes of Graduation songs, my personal favorite Kanye album. Super consistent and just as good as an album.
Wow, this project is something else. Definetly Devon's best work, and an amazing goodbye project. It's so abstract, so depressive and emotional with just few lyrics. I'm seriously impressed. Now, going onto JPEGMAFIA...
Well I expected a lot more from this. It's just snippets and a few cool songs but it doesn't have as much bangers as (most) of his other mixtapes. Still it's not bad just mediocre and long.
This is probably Devon's weirdest project so far. There are 4 interludes/instrumentals and 3 songs on this EP, but all of them blends together in making this creepy ass project. The production is also really unique on this one. Loved it.
I might overrate this but it feels like NOT ALL HEROES WEAR CAPES, just perfected, with generational features, generational beats, generational vocals and generational vibes. This feels like trap's magnum opus. Every song is a banger, has zero misses, and it's probably the most replayable modern album I have ever heard. Also probably the best trap album I heard so far.
Probably the best collection of trap songs I heard. The teamwork on this album is amazing, and Metro has some of the best beats I ever heard so far from him. Sure, it isn't lyrically deep and doesn't have any life changing songs, but it's super fun to listen to and has insane replay value.
"Double the artist, double the quality" ahh album.
Anyways, Metro did his job on this, I really liked the beats, and the features were fitting as well. The only problem here is Sean. On most tracks he sounds bored, his delivery and flow is just flat as hell. Not the most enjoyable project.
And this is why Kanye West is one of the best producers of all time... his music taste is just beyond amazing.
I respect this album a lot. It's probably Devon's most boundary pushing record yet, with that bone chilling production and vibe, and it has some pretty strong highlights, but as an overall project? It's not the greatest. It is just too long and has a lot of bloat.
This project has the vibes but feels a bit unbaked. They have decent chemistry and the beats are simple but likeable. While there are some great tracks here (especially White Girls ♥ Devon Hendryx - might be my favorite Devon song), but there are some really mediocre songs like Hotpockets and The Suburbs.
Peggy tries to create a similar distant, but more chill sound than Generation Y, and this time achieves it in a much better way. It all feels more random and hazy, but that's the beauty of it. He didn't do anything too mind blowing, but still tickles your brain in a special way. The lyrics are edgy (and a bit cringe a few times), but it's not that bad, reminds me a lot of Tyler, The Creator's Bastard.
So this is what NAV sound like, huh? The Metro beats were good, nothing too crazy most time, and NAV's performances and rapping was really weak, the lyrics are decent. Everything about this is mediocre.
Why is this so hated? It's just 4 avarage trap songs. Not much to say.
I swear he mentioned Obama like 5 times... Anyways, this project was okay. The vocals feel distant, and he creates a raw and slightly bitter feeling through the entire album. It was pretty creative and decent for a first project, but I think he could've done a lot more.
I was a little disappointed when I found out it's an instrumental album, but it did deliver. I feel like it brags on a bit too long, but the production is phenomenal and it's a really chill project. Also to note, I rated this one first because apparently this released in 2009 not 2012(?)
38 tracks of straight mid. I came back to this project since I forgot to listen to it, but maybe I shouldn't have. At first I kinda liked it, but it lost me at around track 20 compleatly.
Didn't expect Beyoncé to rap like that... I think this project was successful for what it tried to be, and brought their styles together really well. But despite that, I probably will never revisit this expect for APESHIT.
I only listened to this because it's labeled as a Metro project too, but he only produced like 20% of this... anyways, this project is surprisingly not as bad as I thought it would be. Has some bangers but it's mostly just filler.
