Kehlani - It Was Good Until It Wasn't
68

This is a nice R&B album, but even tho it is really enjoyable it doesn't break my expectations, it is generic and bland mostly.

Lil Tjay - State of Emergency
55

I don't really feel this drill attempt by Lil Tjay, it is enjoyable, but i feel like he can do way better

Lil Durk - Just Cause Y'all Waited 2
77

While not being a particular fan of Lil Durk, this mixtape passed my expectations.

I always felt like Durk was a generic and uninteresting rapper, he regularly releases long projects with his fresh but bland trap cuts, in 2016 he released his peak album Lil Durk 2X, after that he basically went downhill, but this is a rise back to a decent mixtape, maybe his best tape of his career, this is a strong and catchy trap record, and his flow has improved here. Nice beats and nice features.

Shabazz Palaces - The Don of Diamond Dreams
38

I was curious to hear this, im a huge fan of underground and experimental abstract hip hop, this has an eastern sound to it, which makes it really intriguing, but this is not what i wanted to come from the experimental category, i feel like the lyrics are a little random and not meaningful as i wished it was, it's sluggish and goofy at times.

It's unfortunate how boring and uninteresting this project is, specially when he consider shabazz's evolution, he really wasted his potential on this ... read more

The Professionals - The Professionals
58

Was hyped to listen to this, as soon as i noticed that Madlid was the producer.

It has a old-school feeling to it, and when it comes to writing this is a great record, i feel like it is very well balanced, and also really intriguing and enjoyable, it just feel like everything was kinda limited, it could've been better on every points of view, either u talking about prodction, flows, cohesion, lyricism...It's good but kinda underwhelming overall.

The worst about this is definitely the replay ... read more

Moneybagg Yo - Time Served
67

Moneybagg Yo is an interesting trapper, i always showed affection and optimism towards him, and while not being his best work to date, Moneybagg delivers more quality content using a similar formula that we're already used to.

I don't value lack of quality, but he sounds hard on this genre, so it doesn't bother me much, nice verses, great cadence, and nice production

It would be better if it didnt contain so much filler, this man has to learn the lesson.

Fire Features here and there boost ... read more

G Herbo - PTSD
42

G Herbo is a talented pioneer of this decade's Trap Gangsta Rap, while i do not listen to him often, he's a talented guy, and i recognize that, the thing about this album is how he's becoming so melodic and poppy, why the fuck did he think this was a good idea?? Is he crazy??

He's not good melodically, he's not that versatile, i respect that he tried to change but this is mediocre.

Best: Death Row, Intro, Gangbangin,

Worst: Lawyer Fees, Glass In The Face, Party In Heaven, Shooter

Ariana Grande - Dangerous Woman
97

Brace youselves....

Dangerous Woman was Ariana's third studio album, it came out May 2016, after a worldwide tour, and the release of her 2015 droplet Focus.

Through her social media and her behaviour, we could see how she was gonna change coming into this project, and what a change...

First of all, this album does NOT feel generic at all, while not being super creative i can see that Ariana was out of her comfort zone to deliver a really artistic and mature album on here, and i value how ... read more

Ariana Grande - My Everything
76

My Everything came out in summer 2014, and it was the project that contained the singles that sky-rocketed popstar Ariana Grande to worldwide stardom, i twas one of the most successful pop albums of the decade and definitely a top 3 on 2014.

Before this Ariana was already an influencer and a celebrity for her role on Nickelodeon shows, and her debut album Yours Truly showcased a really entertaining but not totally evoluted bubblegum pop athmosphere, the album is really entertaining at first ... read more

Chris Brown & Young Thug - Slime & B
64

Edit: This fell off a bit, it's repetitive (Old rate: 71)

Kinda surprised to see this coming out, i didn't expect mix coming into this project, but both artists kinda surprised me, Young Thug finally came back with another project after releasing his debut LP last summer, and i was interested what Chris Brown's come up would sound like after the wasteland ''Indigo''

In general what makes this project sound decent is the fact that Chris Brown was forced to adapt to the trappy style of Thugga, ... read more

Rich The Kid - BOSS MAN
34

Rich The Kid is not a bad trapper

He has a nice cadence and a very unique voice, that makes him sound kinda different from everyone else, but sadly his trap style really aged like milk, it's sad to see how he doesn't seem to progress any further on any of his projects.

His debut 'The World Is Yours' wasn't a great project but it was a catchy and infecious debut for a trap artist, it had the 2 singles that got his career started and set for a rising future, the problem was the sequel, it ... read more

Kota the Friend - Lyrics to GO Vol. 1
70

Unlike most rap projects, this mostly marks a total disregard towards mainstream music, this is a 14 minute LP that as nothing but bars and punchlines over simple hip hop beats, there's not much to say about this except that this is pure rap, without a commercial mentality, even tho it's not a great lyricism overall, this is entertaining and thoughtful

Stunna 4 Vegas - RICH YOUNGIN
48

Being a rapper than got some of his fame due to his collabs with the new trap sensation DaBaby, he actually gets a lot of influence from him, but hes not only not as interesting as him, hes also not as good on songwriting as Johnatan (even tho hes not a great writer neither).

I can't deny how enthusiastic Stunna sounds, he has an infeccious energy and there's not much to argue about that, but i think he's still not that unique and interesting, which will probably lead to him not being able to ... read more

BONES - OFFLINE
81

I was never familiar with BONES' discography and work, but now im definitely interested in knowing more about it, i expected this to be really dark, but im honestly loving this tape, can't wait for more work from him, the cloud rap energy is really enjoyable, i love how athmospheric and dreamy this project feels overall, it makes this a really intriguing and exquisite experience, really enjoyable project

Best tracks: Timberlake, Vertigo, StateOfEmergency, Blanco Benz

Worst tracks: ... read more

Riz Ahmed - The Long Goodbye
45

I respect how innovative and different this sounded, specially production wise, but this was really really boring, it's different and i reccomend it to anyone who might like more alternative hip hop, but in my opinion it still aint good, expected more

YoungBoy Never Broke Again - Still Flexin, Still Steppin
68

It isn't his best projects to date, but i feel like it was better than some of it's predecessors, and some songs here are more creative than i expected YB to be, so this turns out being a really respectable and momentaniously an enjoyable project. One of my favorites by him, i like his trajectory here.

Best: RIP Lil Phat, How You Want It, Bad Bad

Worst: Lil Top, Fine By Time, Call Me Late

Rod Wave - Pray 4 Love
63

Rod Wave's music is enjoyable, end even though this album isnt as interesting as his past projects it still turned out decent, it has decent production, and really nice vocals

Yo Gotti - Untrapped
77

Overall, i find Yo Gotti the perfect generic artist, every single rapper has something that at least makes them different, Yo Gotti isnt that case, he is totally and purely generic, but overall on this project he comes back from his last project I Still Am sounding better, hes not only trying to spit more decent lyrics, but he manages to drop his most consistent and memorable LP to date, it has enjoyable trap bangers, it has nice and creative production, and it is extremely enjoyable, im kinda ... read more

Fetty Wap - Trap & B
54

This is definitely not as enthusiastic as his debut album that made him successful, but tbh this isn't bad, he was never a good lyrical rapper, but i do respect him as an R&B figure, and i feel like this is an upgrade from his Bruce Wayne project, so i respect this attempt.

Best: Reasons, Teach Me

Worst: Just For You

K.A.A.N. - Twenty Nine
71

This is a good project by the underdog K.A.A.N, im still annoyed that his style sounds a lot like Kendrick's here, but his flows and bars are really underrated, the main issue is that this album is one of his most inconsistent, he should probably take more time to produce his records.
