Mellon Collie rereview:

Disc 1 thoughts: holy shit this is just as good as I remember, literally all killer no filler. Even the moments I'm not a fan of keep everything stylistically fresh and the run time just disappears. It also contains some of the best hit rock songs known to man (and deep cuts). Disc 1 score: 98

Disc 2 Thoughts. Not AS consistent as Disc 1 but even if this was a stand alone album it would still be amazing and has some of their best songs ever period on it. Disc 2 Score: 95.

Overall thoughts: This is one of the most consistent and amazing double albums that is really 2 hours of insanely good rock music that has enough sonic variety to keep things interesting for the whole album. While it doesnt quite reach the status of their magnum opus Siamese Dream imo, this is a hella impressive album and further proof that the pumpkins in the 90s were unstoppable.

I also agree that the first half is much stronger than the second half, but the second half has many underrated songs imo, I love XYU, Bodies and Thirty Three

I think I actually prefer Disc 2 over Disc 1, the heavier songs go even harder and the more mellow songs are even more ethereal and soft. That's just me tho
