Wilco - Ode to Joy

Sounding like the best Wilco album in more than a decade.

I love how this things chugs along, especially the rhythm section. After Wilco took a little break and Tweedy did his own thing for a while the band are back together and sounding like they haven't missed a beat. Actually, these songs sound married in ways that other Wilco albums haven't. Nels Cline's guitar work is subtle or up front at all the right times. The first 5 track run is pretty perfect, and while Tweedy is at times lyrically hopeful, he's also still dropping stuff like this:

"Remember when wars would end?
Now‚ when something's dead
We try to kill it again"

Sounds pretty fitting for these fall days as the landscapes and temperature changes.
