I gotta say, I am actually quite pleasantly surprised at this. Not only was I not expecting a return/rebrand from Sewerslvt, I also wasn't expecting it to be as good as it actually is. I know that Sewerslvt has a...... problematic past.... from when they were a young and dumb teenager, and if that turns you off to wanting to stream their stuff, that is completely understandable and reasonable. That's not something I'm particularly keen on getting into, but I think it is important to mention it ... read more
PC MUSIC WILL NEVER DIE!!!!!!
I think A. G. Cook is allergic to making a consistent solo album but honestly? I don't mind too much because that means it's always a surprise. A 100 minute, 24 song, 3 part album somehow isn't even the largest project he's embarked on. Britpop marks his... second, third, or fourth studio album, depending on who you ask. Most people consider 7G his debut, but A. G. himself has said that he wants Apple to be considered debut- and also there's the question of ... read more
And finally Kite's 6th and final EP, a slight step down from their 5th, but contains maybe the best song they've ever put out in "True Colours"- a psychedelic grungy dark synth pop BANGER. Seriously, check out this song if anything, it's amazing. Also a big fan of the near 9 minute odyssey of "Up For Life" Overall Kite has pretty much perfected their dark synth pop sound here. Sad that this was their final actual project :(
HERE we go, Kite's magnum opus imo. They're finally embracing more dark synth pop vibes and it goes over remarkably well as every single song here is extremely good. Dance Again is a personal favourite- this was my introductory song to Kite and really hooked me in with it's sincerity and the intriguing vocals. Overall love this lil EP.
Kite's 4th EP is a slight step down from their 3rd. Just like the 3rd, there's like one standout song (I Just Wanna Feel) and everything else is Just Fine, but that standout is not nearly as monumental as the standout on their 3rd (Jonny Boy). overall kinda mid. That mid-ness doesn't last for long though.
III is where Kite first starts really cooking, although it's still a mixed bag. Jonny Boy is among the best songs they've ever put out- but the rest of the work here is a bit shaky. They start to embrace a more darker electro pop here rather than the happy go lucky obnoxious and boring vibes of II and it is a change that is absolutely needed, and benefits them much more on future releases.
This is really really pretty. There's a certain level of elegance and lush that I can only really compare to Bjork's Vespertine- and that's not to say the two sound similar, or that if you enjoy one you'll enjoy the other (although I would say the two are decently similar) but it's just that this album is a type of serene beauty that I just don't come by that often. Especially the song "On", that song is absolutely heavenly. Overall really good album!
This is one of those albums that works much better as a full project than listening to individual sounds because it blends together so well. Although I also think that's somewhat of a weakness because I can't really distinguish anything else from each other. If you like warm feel good ambient music, this is an album for you. Beyond that, it's not really that interesting unfortunately.
Sega Bodega is really just experimenting with sound here, and as expected for something like this it's not the most interesting. It is fascinating to see where he started from though, knowing these are the roots to where he leads to, so I respect it a lot.
Wow. This is genuinely stunning, I didn't think this could get better than Who Carry's You, an EP I found a couple weeks ago that I fell in love with instantly, but man, this somehow ends up being even better. If there is anything that this EP truly succeeds in it is it's ability to create an immersive cinematic experience. The vocals instantly hooks you into the project, very haunting and very beautiful, and then the production just completely envelopes your body. Utterly stunning through and ... read more
Glasser's debut album is pretty good! I definitely sense that it is a little bit rough around the edges as are a lot of debut albums for experimental leaning artists but that does not detract from the album because at the core these are really good songs with a really interesting sound. Apply is probably the centerpiece of this album, the industrial production compared with the soaring vocals hit hard, but my personal favourite is Mirrorage because the production with the bells is absolutely ... read more
It's certainly wild, that's for sure! Although honestly a lot of her previous singles and EPs were better than a lot of this. EMPATHY RESERVED is nuts though.
After seeing this get compared to Cross, people saying they're going back to the Cross era, seeing this get revved up as their best album since Cross, I got my hopes up. I got excited! I thought, I probably wouldn't like it as much as cross but surely if it's similar I'd still like some of it, right?

Nope. Wholly disappointing. The only song that really comes close to matching Cross to me is Generator and even then it feels like a dulled down version of something from Cross. Everything ... read more
HOW IS THIS MAN STRAIGHT???
Okay in all seriousness now that I've had more time to listen to this album (3 times), I think it's Sega Bodega's best work yet, by a hair. I think Romeo will probably forever have my favourite song by him, that being the tribute to SOPHIE "Um Um", but I think this is overall his best work yet. Romeo probably has higher highs, but I think this one just barely edges it out for me due to being really consistent for me, because I honestly see myself coming ... read more
This little EP is actually gorgeous. There's a very interesting mix between dream pop and experimental pop that is extremely satisfying to the ears. I think the biggest con of this album is that the vocals feel slightly off key at certain points but honestly I can mostly overlook that for this stunning production
This is surprisingly pretty nice. I actually like it better than Salvador, which I was not expecting. Sega Bodega has a pretty unique take on DecoClub that doesn't provide any major standout moments (though Requiem and Tree Of Life are the best songs here) it's just really solid overall.
It's easier to digest but I think it loses a bit of the intrigue that NO NOW had. It's still pretty good though, just with less highs.
I see a lot of similarities to Flying Lotus's work on this album especially off of Cosmogramma, but Jlin manages to still make this her own. I love the experimentatio on this, and while it does get a bit stale at points, I find the majority of these songs to be pretty nice! Especially Auset, that one goes crazy hard.
I dunno if anyone cares but I was watching fantano react to this and I got instant whiplash because I recognized the metal sheets sample from this reddit video I had saved lmao https://www.reddit.com/r/oddlysatisfying/s/70HohZefUK
