hey this is really fun! just the kind of stuff a.g. is best at, and honestly love everywhere it goes
I can absolutely see why this is a classic in the vaporwave scene. Maybe if I had streamed this earlier I wouldn't be saying this, but I do find 4D to be more interesting and inventive. Although, to be fair, this did come out in 2012 and 4D in 2023 so this probably was much more unique and inventive at the time it came out. Regardless, I did really enjoy it! I loved especially the way some of the vocals were looped on this album, it made them very satisfying.

Hmm.... I was kind of hoping I would enjoy this more. Don't get me wrong, I still really liked it, but I feel, while it is incredibly consistent, it is lacking a tad bit in highs for me. The production goes crazy though. Glitch and otherwise broken aesthetics are mastered here to an extent that made me genuinely shocked to find out this album came out in 2007, so if anything I find it mad impressive that something like this existed back then. Still a very nice experience nevertheless.

This is pure vaporwave. Pure, pure vapor. This thing is heartwrenching to the max and hazy to the beyond max. It really feels like, you're on a holiday, and everyone is partying, but not you. You're home alone at 3 am wasting your life away while the days and nights blend together and weeks and months go by without any noticing. That's what this album feels like. It really tugs you.
TOP 3 SONGS: PROMISE RING, NO LOVE NO MONEY, TAKE CARE OF YOU
It was about damn time I streamed this album after having casually listened to a handful of the songs for a while, and here I am, and it lived up to my expectations just perfectly. I find it very impressive that this is all the way from 2014 as it feels like it hasn't aged much at all since then. And yes, I know, 2014 is NOT that long ago, but music that is this specific genre from back then certainly was not nearly as prolific as it is now. So yeah! Overall good!

just here to pay my respects, it doesn't feel right, personally, for me to rate it. all I can say is it's a god damn shame. condolences to everyone affected.
World's End Girlfriend is someone who I've been vaguely aware of for a long time, but never actually checked out. I saw everyone talking about this one recently thanks to the Fantano review, and it seemed exceptionally polarizing. Some people calling it torture to listen to and some people calling it absolutely stunning and beautiful. Morbid curiosity got the better of me, something which I had just told myself to not give into after how atrocious the last album that I gave into from morbid ... read more
Pretty solid beats, definitely not as good as some of TOKiMONSTA's other stuff, it definitely feels like her older work, but it's still pretty solid beats.
TOP 3 SONGS: Nxt Msg, 2nd Boom, Conversion Theory
This is probably the most unexpected end to PC music, with freaking THY SLAUGHTER being brought back for what I assume is the final album release of PC music ever, but I'm happy for it. Sad PC music is over now but this was very nice. Hyperpop x Rock is definitely not something I expected or really even thought would go well together but you know what, it's quite nice.
TOP 3 SONGS: Lost Everything, Sentence, Reign
Yeah. I'm a bit annoyed, because this has the opposite problems of Sus Dog to me. With Sus Dog, the beats were amazing, but the vocals kind of really messed it up for me. However in this album, the vocals are fine but the beats feel overall... less interesting... idk. Not terrible just not really the most intriguing thing out there to me.
TOP 3 SONGS: Vardo, Oblivious/Portal, Silver Pet Crank

Holy shit?
So I first streamed this album around two years ago, when I randomly heard CD Player Pt. III pop up and really enjoyed it. However, back then, I was less than a week away from the release of what would go on to be one of my favourite albums of all time, and my intense anticipation for that album kind of lead me to not really give this album the attention it deserved. And so I forgot about it. Well, it had always been on my radar, I was listening to other stuff by DDS and I liked ... read more
Melanie Martinez is someone I have heard very many things about but really viewed from afar for a couple reasons, first of all obviously, the SA allegations and several other problematic things. Secondly, I tend to avoid mainstream pop stuff because I don't find it very interesting to me. That is not to say I think it's bad- that is to say that it is just not for me. And seeing that everyone kind of hated it, I kind of was like "okay" and moved on. However, I accidentally stumbled ... read more
Yeah after a re-listen, this is better than I initially thought. I still think it's a bit crammed, but the sound on this thing is absolutely incredible. Some of the most powerful and moving plunderphonics I've ever heard.
TOP 3 SONGS: Light Left The Garden, Messe De E-102, Fall For Me
God. I want to like this so much. Aisha Devi is definitely one of the most unique musical artists I've ever heard, her sound is so distinct, but yet I just... can't really find myself getting into this all that much? Which really makes me sad! Because some of my favourite artists of all time are those really deep cut unique sounding ones (see: Anna Meredith, Katie Gately) but something about these songs just does not really draw me in much at all. I don't dislike anything. I think it comes ... read more
I was initially excited for the Poppy album, but after seeing the fairly negative reception for it, I kinda kept pushing off when I'd finally listen to it until today. And I have to say.... yeah it's kind of deserved. However, I do think there are a couple of really good tracks here, but they're outnumbered by ones that are just... really dull. Also I generally don't really take in the lyrics but "When you zig I zag, when you zig I zag, a zigzag" is maybe one of the worst lyrics I ... read more
It's... fine! I have no strong desires towards it. I don't dislike it. But I can't imagine myself coming back to really any of the songs here. It's fine to vibe out to I guess but not really ground breaking or interesting. I don't mind when bands or artists keep the same sound for multiple albums, but this feels so incredibly similar to the other albums that I just cannot really differentiate anything. I just wish they'd branch out in some way for some of these tracks.
I agree with most people, in the sense that of the DDS trio we got this november, this is definitely the weakest link. However, as you can see by my ranking, it's insanely tough competition as the other two are absolutely incredible. This album is probably the most like what I'm used to from them in terms of its sound, but it's still one of the most unique, innovative, and exciting sounds out there in modern electronic music.
TOP 3 SONGS: The Glaciers Are Melting, Free Yourself, Let Them Live
I genuinely have no clue how I found this artist considering they have only 55 monthly listeners on spotify and are entirely in spanish, but I found ORO SOLIDO last year and really enjoyed how strange it was, and in September, I found out they released a debut album. So I decided, why not, I'll check it out, and MAN I got surprised at how lovely and unique this is. Like.... Spanish electro-pop or something? PERFECTO AZUL is straight up FIRE in particular. Overall, blew away my expectations and ... read more

In all seriousness, I've been a fan of Daft Punk for as long as I've been a fan of music (which admittedly isn't nearly as long as many other people) and after seeing their breakup announcement in 2021, I was sad, but had a lot of respect for what they've done over the years. But now it kind of feels like that was schrodingers breakup, because they're still making new music. But they're not making new ... read more
