Really nice album, as a full length album this comes together insanely nicely, even if it doesn't have as much individual "wow!" songs as some of her other albums.
TOP 3 SONGS: It's Not Up To You, Frosti, Pagan Poetry
Royksopp's first album, and easily one of their weakest. It's still, pretty solid, but has no "wow!" moments that almost all of their other albums do. Lots of stuff are very forgettable.
TOP 3 SONGS: So Easy, Eple, Poor Leno
oops I don't like this one very much compared to everything else they have to offer rip
It's tough but I just don't really enjoy the sounds on this one. A lot of songs are just really ugly in a non-gratifying way. Definitely the worst of their discography, but the existence of this album does give us alive 2007 so it barely passes in my book.
Lost In Bonerland is absolutely FIRE. Everything else is just fine.
Decent. My 3 "top songs" are the only top songs here I even remotely like. Everything else kinda does nothing for me.
TOP 3 SONGS: Over & Over, The Warning, Boy From School
Kind of fades into the background for me. Forgettable
Kind of feels like daft punk but not really as good. Less Talk More Rokk and Afterparty are nice though, but everything else meh
I feel like this album is always looked at one of her worst ones but honestly, I kind of love it. Or I guess, two songs on here- Wanderlust and Declare Independence- are in my top 5 bjork songs of all time. And then the rest of the album is Just Okay.
TOP 3 SONGS: Wanderlust, Declare Independence, .....................Earth Intruders
Fuck Ethan Kath, but this album is still pretty good. I understand it's their most popular but honestly... it's always been my least favourite. But hey, I still like it, it's got some really sick vibes.
TOP 3 SONGS: Knights, Vanished, Untrust Us
I dunno... I'm kind of bored. This doesn't do much for me.
Not much I can say here that hasn't already been said, this album is killer, but not my personal favourite of their catalogue.
mmmmm this one I find to be exceptionally forgettable. Out of all grimes records, and I don't think she's put out a bad one (yet), I think this is the weakest.
I'd say this is probably the weakest link in Royksopp's discography. It's still not bad, they've never put out a bad album, but it just doesn't stick out at all. "The Alcoholic" and "...And The Forest Began To Sing" are the two standouts for me, but still, everything kind of fades into the background of ambience.
Very pretty, a couple of duds in the tracklist, but some really good stuff too. I think this is their most popular album, and while not my personal favourite, that's still for good reason. St. Michael is a personal highlight, I'm not sure why but I always find myself bopping along to it. It also has hyperpop style vocals 5 years before hyperpop even existed.
TOP 3 SONGS: St. Michael, Trinity's Crying, Hopscotch
Well....
First, I will say, Good Day Today, and Pinky's Dream absolutely SLAP. Good Day Today especially, that song is straight up 10/10.
But absolutely N O T H I N G else on this album lives up to it. I found myself deeply disliking nearly every single other song on this album, or if I didn't dislike it, I just didn't care.
Maybe this kind of music is just not for me.
