Don't listen to Bowie's awful mix version, but the raw Iggy version of this was amazing
I've never been a fan of Cole, but hype mongers had my expectations for this album surprisingly high. Despite this, I feel the exact same about this as I do for every Cole album. The double album is supposed to show the change between him over a 10 year period, which is cute, but if you look at J Cole over the last 10 years, his beats, hooks and instrumentals are just as boring as they have been since the start of his career. His writing's taken a step-up, but I don't care for ... read more
This is what I've been searching for since I discovered black metal. Something that doesn't have the boring, clean production of American and modern black metal, and something that carries that feeling of depression and emptiness without being boring or sounding like absolute shit. Good album
I wanted to play this on a late night walk in the snow a few months ago, figured it would fit the atmosphere.
Glad I fucking didn't these shitty ass drums would've blended in with the leaves rustling.
Great album I recommend it
You know what fuck it I give 100s whenever I please and it may well get dropped in the future but for now... fuck
You don't need a reason to be depressed, it just happens. Adjusting and growing up is hard, alcohol is fun (that's not the message but I'm not changing my mind yet) and no matter how long it takes you can always make a life for yourself. You've got this
Well it's official. My taste in music has changed. My first ever 10/10 album, the one I still held near and dear to my heart, even after all my past favourites faded. The album that not only got me into metal, but got me into music as a whole.
And it's still at an 80, but for some reason this feels like a big deal.
Slipknot's debut is a good album. It pushes nu metal and 'radio-friendly' rock to the furthest extreme it can go, it's catchy without robbing itself ... read more
Solos are amazing as always, the riffs are a mixed bag with some being excellent, but vocals, songwriting and lyrics have reached an all time low for the band. This album being self titled fits perfectly, because this feels almost like a parody of every characteristic the band embodies and has embodied their whole career.
Also it is so fucking fitting that the final song on their final album is a metallica cover. Dave really knows what he's doing
Everything a sequel album SHOULD be.
Close your eyes (and count to fuck) is an 11/10 song I love this shit
Disappointing massive rap album that took 15 million years to come out two years in a row. Delay the fall off and let's make it three πππ
I'm not a massive fan of this album but for once I'm gonna give comprehensive reasons why because it's something I'd expect to love. First thing I have to say is that this is some of my first experience with drone music, and it is entirely possible that this is just not my genre. If that's the case, well then here's my reasonings why this isn't my genre.
This first song was pants tighteningly good. It was heavy, it was beautiful, it was overwhelming it was ... read more
This has got to be the first metalcore album to get more interesting for me when the clean vocals come in.
Also listening to more beatdown hardcore makes me really appreciate how fucking impressive Knocked Loose are.
Yeah know a death metal album is good when it has clean vocals and still... yeah yeah second time this month and I know this isn't really death metal but let me have it
A bit cheesy and dramatic but this suits them so much better than their 80s output
