Words can't really describe what a lot of this album is, all I know is it's the last thing I should've listened to to help me sleep, and yet I couldn't turn it off anyway
I think this album works the best when it's being straight hard rock rather than blues. It doesn't quite have the atmosphere of the rock that it inspired, and it doesn't quite have the rhythm of blues, at least at points. At points this is phenomenal, and at points this is just pretty good blues rock. I'd consider it a great album still, why not
Full of Hell are so much better when they're fast. The highlights on this thing are exactly what I thought Full of Hell & Merzbow should've been. The sludge metal here sound excellent but most of the industrial and noise sounds really out of place
Party rock barely a step above ACDC, I won't listen to it now but I can imagine bumping this at a party in the 80s
You know a death metal album is good when it has clean vocals and STILL manages to get a 9
You write incredible riffs, have flawless guitar tone, great drumming great vocals
And then repeat the same song for 28 minutes. It's still hard as fuck but you can throw in a solo or a tremolo lead from time to time
EDIT (78-93): They abandoned the generic sinking ship of hyperpop and made the first ever post-hyperpop album. And it fucking slaps. It feels like such a natural progression for them but it's so outlandish and creative you'd never have seen it coming
It loses steam at points, but this is a certified metalcore classic with some definite shining highlights
Definitely a huge improvement from his past work, with lyricism that's a lot deeper and more interesting. Unfortunately the beats once again fail to do anything for me outside of the intro track, same for his flows. It's definitely a big improvement though.
If you're wondering what my taste in hip-hop is, it's this. This is everything I like
It's like combining all the good kinds of modern pop, and it comes across surprisingly well
I'm so GAY
EDIT(86-94): Fuck Viagra Boys three more listens and this is album of the year
