It feels like a genuinely exciting call to arms to start with, blending radio rock with slower, epic sounding tracks, and then the second half is boring as shit

At the end of the day your enjoyment of this will stem from how nostalgic you are for 90s-2000s post punk. It has some dreamy modern twists but at its core its just a modernised version of these older sounds. And that's not a bad thing
