Green Day - 21st Century Breakdown

Growing up with Green Day's music and loving everything from their first album all the way to American Idiot, I always used to view 21st Century Breakdown as their first meh album, and after giving it a proper relisten years later, I understand why I have felt that way. After their grand rock opera they well did it again but this time with a more polished production handled by Butch Vig and a collection of songs that is unarguably their weakest showing so far up to that point. The album has a consistent feel and decent enough plot line to follow but just feels like a cheap sequel that shows the band biting off more than they can chew.
