The Decemberists - The Crane Wife
84
Another great indie folk album sith great pacing despite its length. It is a sonic journey thats for sure.
The Good Life - Album of the Year
96
Holy fuck, you ever have an album so devestating it stops you in your tracks. It happened to me on my walk tonight. Its scary how relatable and accurate it is. On the surface it seems like a project derivative of Bright Eyes but if you are able to look at the bigger picture of Saddle Creek records and Tims oen catalog, it is a shining jewel in his discography. As phenominal as the record is, I dont know if it is one I can come back too, this is one of the hardest to listen to for me because it ... read more
Okkervil River - The Stage Names
85
A great indie rock/indie folk record like a mix of Arcade Fire and Bright Eyes in a weird way. It works very well and is a very solid album.
Pet Shop Boys - Behaviour
68
Controversial take as a fan of their first three albums. The group achieved great production and sound on Behaviour but forgot to write memorable songs
War - The World Is a Ghetto
83
A great soulful funky record. It def makes sense why it was the best selling album of 1973. In the best way, it feels like a distilled version of funk and soul but instead of it sounding bland, it is just the right amount of artistic vision and accessibility.
Depeche Mode - Wagging Tongue
68
Quite possibly one of their weakest songs on the album... could have picked literally anything else
Bob Dylan - Bringing It All Back Home
87
This album has grown on me emmensly esspecially Subterranean, 115th, Tamborine, Maggies Farm, and Outlaw Blues. Yet another classic Dylan album
Stella Rose - Eyes Of Glass
78
While Stella still has a lot of room to grow as an artist, this is one great debut album from the daughter of the greatest frontman, Dave Gahan of Depeche Mode. A lot of things end up great on this album. The production is immaculate, her vocals are very powerful, and her creative energy is riding high and doesn't sound derivative of her father at all. It is obvious the most clear influence is PJ Harvey, which I am not surprised about since Dave loooooooved PJ Harvey around the time Stella ... read more
Lil Peep - Live Forever
70
Honestly a 60 in terms of quality but an 80 in terms of aestetic
Dire Straits - Dire Straits
77
A much better album than Brothers In Arms. The 70s production compliments their bluesy yet clean style in a much more flattering way compared to the over sanitzed 80s production
The Jimi Hendrix Experience - Electric Ladyland
74
Good but overrated as fuck
Julia Holter - Loud City Song
78
Julia Holter's Loud City Song is an album I associate with that period right before you fall asleep especially if you are coming down from a high not long prior. I don't know how else to properly describe the feeling.
Crosby, Stills & Nash - Crosby, Stills & Nash
70
This was a good album though not one that really stood out to me much. The instrumentals are pretty standard for it's time and the main attraction is the vocals which often make or break the LP. Sometimes their lush harmonies come to make an angelic chorus which is undeniably beautiful but other times can sound a bit much and a little bit dated. Overall, decent record.
Dire Straits - Brothers in Arms
59
Brothers In Arms is not a bad album but an album that has soured with age. It sounds like an album that would have been great back in 1985 but the pristine production and glossy finish on this record have aged to give this album a very flat and lifeless presentation despite it's bluesy and heartland undertones. Unfortunate.
Maruja - Knocknarea
83
This one caught me off guard not going to lie. It is a very unique debut EP and I can't wait to hear where this band grows in the future. Its artsy and jazzy while still having that UK post punk and art punk undertone that has been running strong the past few years in Britain. This is a must listen to EP.
Lorde - Pure Heroine
75
Genuinly better than I thought it would be. Her voice shines through, the subtle yet ponyant synthpop production helps even some of the albums more mid moments
Bob Dylan & The Band - Before the Flood
81
An excellent live album, I feel like theh both bring the best out of eachother in a live setting. While Dylans tracks outshine The Band a great deal, it is an invigorating performance.
Judy Collins - Wildflowers
67
Honestly a very beautifully composed album but as a folk album it feels way more shallow than other greats from the era

"Yeah i think i meant that for me personally after the peak of The Joshua Tree each album is slightly lower in quality with Zooropa being the first real dud in their catalog and Pop being a major mistep in their catalog. I do think the next album is actually relativly good but from what I have heard, after that album it is more mediocore."
