I had to come back and write this because this has been bugging me. First off, the album is good, it's acceptable. There's not a "Chemistry" here that I can point out, they're all solid in their own way. However, the lyrics and the constant politcal/social commentary can get fucking tiring. I miss when Win and Régine would write beautiful lyrics over beautiful instrumentals on earlier albums rather than having beautiful instrumentals with PHONE BAD GOVERNMENT BAD bullshit. I just got into this record yesterday and I immediately bought the CD from Discogs yesterday, so I think that could say something about how I feel about it.
I'm gonna be honest here and say that this album has always been great to me, but it never fully clicked to me as being perfect. It's a great album nonetheless, in fact, it's a phenomenal album. It was just never a 10 for me, y'know? Kid A on the other hand...
What the hell are you guys on? This kind of slaps. Evn if my emo phase has long gone in the depths of 6th grade, I actually still really like this. I Constantly Thank God For This Album Getting Me Into More Music and Not More Twenty One Pilots.
(Autotune on Nails for Breakfast still kills me though)
School started up again, so I'm back....kinda. This was one of the newer pickups this summer and it's pretty good. This combines high school band music and indie rock with double dutch/cheerleader chants and other stuff. I never played Little Big Planet but this does fit that game. Pretty cool.
(Update: I listened to all of his albums, and this isn't perfect. It's great, not perfect.) My cousin just had a baby who I nicknamed after Kanye West, so I'm obligated to make a version of this album about her son. Oh...and this is an overwhelmingly great album, even Hell of A Life and Blame Game kinda slap.
Actually not bad at all. MictheSnare made a good point about this album being the soundtrack to this generation's teenage heartbreak and memories just like how MCR or tons of music from 10-15 years ago was for other teenagers. I can see myself remembering this one for a long time. I've yet to experience anything, so this album will hit when everything comes along. Besides that, solid debut by Olivia.
"I'm gonna call the clique police on you and you're gonna wish you never said shit you fucking AHHHHHH!!
I'm just kidding...but seriously, this is a great album."
"Yeah, I've come to terms that Weezer with Matt Sharp will always be the best Weezer.
