Took a while but I’m here. So technically this is lower than “If” but there is much more ambition in this record and more risk, some of it paid off, some of it didn’t. But I can tell Juan is starting to come into his own, just needs more work to create something good.
In terms of production, mixing and overall score, “if” is a huge upgrade over his first 2 records. There’s still some awkward stuff here and there, and some areas feel like there’s some things missing to really make it great, but still a good album.
