Beautiful album and a great intro to Jazz for those wanting to explore the genre.
This is interesting music and a taste that I think I could acquire. There is clearly depth and complexity here that would reward a careful listener. For the time being it hasn't grabbed me enough to make me want to return to it as a whole.
I have enjoyed listening to this album! It is dark, moody, dancy and concise. I am looking forward to hearing more from Heartworms in the futre.
Favourite tracks: Just to Ask a Dance, Jacked, Smuggler's Adventure
Every time I listen to this I feel as though it is over too soon. You can just get a sense of the band members looking at one another, signalling, coming in and out of consciousness as they create this together. I loved this release and it is certainly one of my favourites so far this year!
On my first listen I was quite captivated by this album. There is a beatiful blend of western and arabic sounds to get lost in, with beautiful trumpet playing. It's a wonderful album to get lost in. It suffers a little from being bloated and long, but I'll definitely being going back for another listen.
Best: She Stands on the Shore and Though My Eyes Go To Sleep, My Heart Does Not Forget You
