A broken transmission album that isn't complete mid like Between Two Worlds.
This is how you actually create interesting soundscapes with short audio samples.
The fact that you managed to stoop lower than the 3rd installment is beyond me. The sound selection, the vocals, the structuring, and pretty much everything else this album has to offer is SO TACKY AND ANNOYING, I want to erase Jacob Collier's entire existence from my memory. The best way I can describe this record is: weirdo music, but the artist doesn't want to commit towards the weirdo aesthetic fully and instead tries to fill incredibly hollow, radio friendly, supplementary trash with those ... read more
Hot, maybe ignorant take:
I find this album to be, amongst the classics, some of the most wallpaper and inoffensive indie rock there is. There isn't really anything worthwhile on the lyric side for me, the instrumentals are stiff and the record just can't commit to a particular vibe and energy, and because of that, stays in this middle of the road spirit. It's really off-putting imo. Julian Casablancas has a nice voice. That's about it. Much prefer their Voidz output and The New Abnormal to ... read more
For a guy that's being hailed the best thing in modern music by every major figure in the industry, his material sure is vile.
Count the People is one of the worst songs to ever grace the earth, holy shit.
The crown jewel of the EAI scene.
Still brilliant after so many listens.
Good comeback album from Terminator of Crowds Scott. He went for a more rhythmic, unrestrained approach with a good chunk of the production here, instead of the the classic trap style we've come to expect from his releases. Of course, there are R&B breathers and typical trap beats, but the album likes to experiment way more than Astroworld, which is favorable. My problem is the inconsistent tracklist. Songs like God's Country, I Know ?, Parasail and K-Pop are absolutely forgettable for me ... read more
I wanted to like this thing more, but I just can't.
Between Two Worlds is just a run-of-the-mill vaporwave album with not as good of a flow as some other classics in the genre. The sample play just isn't as gripping as on the best T E L E P A T H テレパシー能力者 and Desert Sand Feels Warm At Night releases, in my opinion. The atmosphere and mood setting are quite good for a broken transmission record, though. Can't complain. I would probably like it way more without a ... read more

imagine giving this anything other than a 90+
AOTY needs to get on this.
You thought Showa was bad? You thought Pleasure Escape was bad? You thought Buyer's Market was bad? You thought Children's Pornography Review Vol. 1 was bad? Try listening to this LMAO. This is quite possibly the most vile "piece of music" ever and I will give a quick rundown of what it is about: the "album" is a tape recording of what happened on the day of the infamous Jonestown Massacre. It starts with two Jim Jones speeches stitched ... read more
People who complain about Filosofem's mixing should listen to this.
This is a conceptual masterpiece and the biggest pile of dogshit to ever grace the earth. The final boss of the punk scene, the crown jewel of music's dadaism movement, originally, the legendary rare Ramones bootleg. What I would give to come across this monstrosity in a record store and pick it up with no prior knowledge of its existence. Hirohito's vampire ass face being plastered on the cover just after he died is the ultimate cherry on top.
