This dude is talented, saw him live at Mile of Music. Listen straight through bluesy soul-filled Americana. The opening three tracks, Right One, and Already One are the highlights.
I call it as I hear it and this is a great album! Wonderful listen cover to cover. A little bit of everything, some folk chill, indie folk/rock, two very touching slow tracks to close, and the singer even sounds a bit like The Strokes put out a folky album on “Mistakes”. Leadoff track “Millions” is still my favorite song on album, but it’s very close with several others!
Solid effort from the Milwaukee DIY Indie Rocker. There is a touch of Tom Petty and the Violent Femmes in some of the vocals. Jesus Freak, Cliche Folk Song, Narrow Escapes and Bad Invention are the standout tracks but good listen start to finish.
Straight from Miami, their debut release is littered with solid reggae jams. Perfume, Sugar, Move Your Body Gyal, Baby Girl and Nuff Of Dem are all groovy jams. The album is experimental as they do delve into hip on Marmalade and Watch Out. The blend of the two hits best on Watch Out, one of the stand out tracks on the album, if not the best.
“History of Violence” is a solid jam. I’d be fine if I never heard the rest of the album again.
The Cincinnati, Ohio bands 5th LP gets off to a bit of a spacey theme and Twenty One Pilots sound with lead track Entropy. Money, Now is the headline single here. While not their best, another solid effort from the midwest alternative indie band.
Smooth neo-soul grooves highlight the first 5 tracks. The balance of the album turns into kind of a monotonous snooze fest. Album is a bit overrated.
Great chill folk album. The first three tracks are so good with wholesome lyrics. Slow’s down quite a bit after that. Overall solid listen straight through if the mood suits!
Good album, every song is decent, just lacking any real standout favorite tracks.
Pretty good dance beats. Woof is a total banger! Guardian Angel has an eclectic groove. Hey Homie is a neat song and Throw some ass is cute. Four out of ten tracks that I would play again.
I loved the direction of where the album started off with Lemonade and People Shown Up. Things took a turn from there in Maren’s post divorce pop venture.
This is a tough one, I can dig 4 of the songs but the rest I’d be happy to never hear again. Moving Together and Planned Obsolescence are the standouts with even an LOL moment in the latter, “I am a punchline in a joke that was never funny.” Maybe a reference to the other 6 songs on the album?
I wanted to love it, cool art, name, etc. Interesting beats and instrumentation, just can’t get over the singer/style and how it meshes with everything else. It’s like it doesn’t blend together.
Yes 37 tracks is way to many but c’mon everyone this is a decent album, clearly the man has some talent. There’s a few bangers in there!
Solid album of catchy Brit electropop grooves headlined by “Illegal” and “Tonight”, the latter which is a real banger!
A monotonous snoozefest! Can’t believe I didn’t fall asleep hunting for any kind of variation. Same vocal woven through all 11 tracks. Arthouse Cinema was ok, but then it’s like it went on repeat for another 36 minutes.
