I mean, now that I've listened to their stuff, discovered Chris Baretto's demos, & had the time to stream Mr. God, I think I just... MASSIVELY prefer Chris as a vocalist to Spencer. Even WITH that... this is THE masterpiece of djent that the community makes it out to be.
idk about you guys but I'm more confused by the near-fanfic levels of references to Neon Genesis Evangelion throughout this thing than by the album cover

IT'S OFFICIAL: ISIS IS MY NEW FAVORITE METAL BAND!
I honestly didn't know if they'd stick the landing here with this last album, mostly 'cuz I love ITAOT t h a t much. But HOOOOOLY, did they ever blow all of their previous efforts out of the (notmakinganeasyOceanicpunhereiswear) water!
Probably my favorite song from In The Absence Of Truth...from start-to-finish, this is an absolute MASTERWORK of post-metal.
This album has the unfortunate position of living up to 2 TITANS of underground metal, so let me quell your nerves about whether or not it's a worthy follow-up.

The focus on melody, the gorgeous atmosphere in the higher-paced instrumentals, the TOP-NOTCH vocals, the consistent lengths (save for a killer closer)...

After Oceanic, I wasn't sure what to expect of this album, especially since - as an avid lover of these kinds of projects - the concept was MUCH looser than before.
I can surely tell you that all of the hype around this album is justified...

This was my most listened-to song of 2025 on Spotify. Truth be told, even with the SHALLOW lyrics & my disdain for both of these bands rn...this song is one of my all-time favourites!

Honestly, I'll just say this: the emotion in this album is forced. To me anyways, it feels so FORCED! Whenever I try to jam a track these days, I just say to myself "Guys, knock it off." & leave before the 1 1/2 minute mark"
