Okay so does this live up to the hype? yes
So this thing starts out pretty great at y'know, some heavy hitters, nothing new for them but it's still great y'know, songs are catchy, they are epic, heavy, prog, djent-ish...
But then we get the Massiah Complex 5 part prog metal epic opera thingy, it's... damn, these songs bleed into each other like damn, not even bleed it's like... you don't even notice the start and end of each song, it's literally like one prog epic split into 5, riffs continue into the start of other tracks and all of that, exception being between II and Iii, where the album takes a break for a bit and slows down, which is then followed by like an explosion and then we are back to djent like prog metal, IV is even heavier, building off the last track, its a full on killer metal track, which then slows down for bit before it explodes again, we get a bit of electronica here mixed in with the metal sound but it doesn't take over, barely appears for that matter, it's there to compliment the sound and add on to it.
And that again transitions seamlessly into the V which is the most epic of them all, the climax of this album, man is it amazing, its epic, it's heavy, it's fast paced, we get a guitar solo early on in the song and damn is it a great one. This song is one huge last banger before the slower stripped down closer starts, might be their slowest and least heavy track so far, it's quite chilling and a fitting end to this album.
Yeah I'm prb over reacting to this but it's a really great album, if you like the band then you should love this album, if you don't like them, you might want to skip it as it prb won't change your mind of em y'know
For a 50 minute album it sure went by fast tbh
