Suggest bands that are generally disliked by people on AOTY please 👀
This really only exists because I'm curious to see which bands are overhated and which earned their reputations
I'll only add a band to the list after I finish all of their albums, I won't just listen to like one album and decide whether they are good or not. Exceptions made if one of the albums not on Spotify or something

I don't even have to say anything... its just MANIA...

VERDICT: Their early stuff is really under appreciated imo, however their new stuff is... the worst shit ever. AMERICA is my least favourite album ever made... outside of that album, their discography is quite good tho. They've always had issues, being pretentious af being the biggest issue but they still delivered a bunch of great songs on their early stuff. I'd recommend A Beautiful Lie since that's like... their least flawed album, not my fav but it's a great emo alt rock album. Sadly not looking forward to anything they'll make next tho.

VERDICT: Overhated, however, I still don't really like them so far BUT... they are one album in, let's not pretend like they are already 7 albums in and all they've done is rip off Led Zep for 15 years... so far however? Yeah atm the argument that they are a glorified Led Zep/Rush cover band isn't a bad one.
Their double EP thing is pretty decent though and honestly there are worse bands you could sound like, hell if i got compared to led zep all the time i wouldn't see it as a bad thing. Just give them time to find their sound I'm sure they'll come out with something cool

VERDICT: Yes their singer is a total asshole, I agree, however his talent is also undeniable, he has a powerful and convincing voice and delivers a lot of passionate performances, the rest of the members deliver a lot of great instrumentals behind his vocals and it's clear that this is a super talented band.... but... Calling their 2nd album a sophomore slump is an understatement, that album was career ending band, MANIA levels of bad, I'm glad they managed to not... disband after that album. On their last album Ronnie finally ditched the shitty rapping, the forced screamo, the obnoxiously samey breakdowns and the cringey lyrics for a more interesting, updated and imo great version of falling in reverse, this band has a great future ahead of them if Ronnie keeps himself under control and doesn't do some stupid shit or try to bring back what made the mid part of their discography so insufferable.

They are still in the early phases of their careers so who knows what they'll be making in 4-5 years. I want to hope for the best.
