The first 7 songs would make this one of the easiest 10s I'd ever have to give, but once you get to the 2nd half, the song quality begins to fade just a tad. Still very solid throughout, but Lounge Act, On A Plain, and Something in the Way aren't anything super special.

...why do I like this?

I mean, it's not that I'm ANGRY that I like it, I'm more so...confused.

Vaporwave...black metal

And it works.

I've really enjoyed what Aminé has to offer ever since I heard his early singles like Caroline and Redmercedes, so I've been consistently checking out his work from his debut onward and hoping that he would truly impress me with a full project. However, he's somewhat let me down with each successive release. Not that his last 2 albums were bad, not at all! They've always just hung around the realms of decent, so with this album cycle having some very enjoyable singles, I was hopeful that ... read more

This is solid for what it is, but I'm not a big electronica guy, so take that with a grain of salt. It's sorta just in one ear and out the other aside from a few key moments. Probably really works as background music.

Really wish I could hear the vocals because they seem pretty integral to the listening experience and the instrumentals are really good!

Ok, y'all are crazy. This is great.

Now I don't fully blame you, as this is quite the odd duck of an initial listening experience. It begins as a rather straight forward, standard alt rock affair with a hint of electronica before it gradually warps, distorts, and grows into this off kilter blend of glitchiness, ambient passages, weird, almost jazzy drum patterns, surprisingly personal, philosophical, and uncomfortable lyrics, and an all around strange vibe that doesn't really let up until it ... read more

The opener and closer are absolutely amazing. Top notch in every sense of the word. However, that mid section is just...pretty good. I totally get the immense praise, but I found myself kinda underwhelmed throughout some sections of both I Talk to the Wind (outside of the gorgeous incorporation of flutes) and Moonchild, which is honestly just too long and drawn out.

This wasn't as good as their previous album, but it's not bad. I still see a fair bit of potential in them. 1s & 0s, You, Me, & the Class War, Liquid, and Monolith are all pretty solid highlights.

Ok, when are we gonna have the conversation that Paramore have one of the best 3 album runs of the last two decades?

Yeah, this one is more akin to what I've come to expect from him. It's ok, but it's really nothing special unlike the fantastic Climb Back.

God...DAMN. I am NOT a big fan of Cole, but I can't deny that when he brings his A game, he crushes it. He hasn't sounded this hungry in years, if ever. Clever, substantive, his flow is ridiculous, the beat is great with the backing vocals paired with the twinkling piano, and even the hook is decent.

This is less a sophomore slump for me than a very well executed experiment that just doesn't quite have the same magic as the debut.

I adored Eternity, In Your Arms because it was fast, aggressive, anthemic gothic punk with hooks for days. With this new release, Creeper have sadly dropped the speed and intensity for the sake of making everything larger, grander, and with even greater emphasis on the catchy choruses.

Now, of course, that isn't entirely a bad thing. For the most part these ... read more

i'm honestly willing to call this the most underrated single of the year so far. My man came back with the HEAT.

I can't believe I had this at an 8 at one point. This thing is RIDDLED with filler. You could honestly argue that this record is a mixed bag, but for me, the high points are so astronomically high that I can't not give this a positive score.

This was really disappointing. He hardly even raps on the damn thing outside of like 3 tracks! When he is rapping it's very enjoyable, but most of this is just very subtle remixes of these already established songs. Luckily they're left mostly intact.

I still find it absolutely hilarious that many people's main critique of this awkward, geeky nerdcore album made by a self-proclaimed awkward, geeky nerd is that it's corny because of how awkward and geeky it is.

I honestly think rap has become so easy for this man that him just fucking around for a few tracks surpasses 99% of major releases.

Yes, I'm basically a stan. Shoot me.

Logic has returned with his best album. The production is fantastic: riddled with classic sampling nods and infectious drum work. His lyrics are finally clever and well constructed again along with being some of the most personal and introspective he's given us in a long time. There honestly isn't a skip on the whole project unless you count the outro, but that isn't a song.

It's nothing mind-blowing conceptually and some of the winks and gestures to other artists can get a little tiring after ... read more

Ok, I wanna explain something.

Summer of 2017 when this came out up to when Tyler dropped the final video for the project with See You Again honestly makes up one of the most important times of my life. To start, I was dealing with a lot of personal stuff involving family, school, etc... since I had just gotten out of Junior year and heading into Senior.

Before the release of the initial single Who Dat Boy, I was never really a Tyler fan. I knew and appreciated Yonkers and She and heard about ... read more
