🔥 🐄 🔥 Sacred Cow Winner 2021 🏆
Gets off to a bad start with the retro 'Prince meets cabaret' style and the only song of real interest on the first half is Annie Clark's attempt at a 'Dark Side of the Moon' homage ('Live in the Dream') which goes down pretty smooth.
The second side is less patchy and both 'Down' and particularly 'Somebody Like Me' play more to her established strengths. Cutting the energy levels does have a downside and the resulting repetition causes the album to drift into a deep slumber, before finally fizzling out.
Listening to this I could practically smell the cow hide burning, 49% - moo.
