Paradise Lost - One Second

Paradise Lost experimented after 'Draconian Times' crafting Depeche Mode style pop ('Mercy', 'The Sufferer'), goth pop ('Blood of Another', 'Say Just Words') and some fascinating songs tackling 'tough issues' (prostitution on the phenomenal 'Lydia', the fallout from a school massacre on the quirky 'Another Day').

The album is a success in a different way to its championed predecessor - only just over half the songs really work, but the album is brave and they had proven they could branch out and still write songs that would rank in their top 10 or so best.
