THE GRAND KANYE RELISTEN: DAY 9:
the only flaw i have for this album is it's messy. it feels pretty rushed, with some questionable production choices at times, and a few subpar guest verses. other than this relatively minor qualm, this is an infectiously fun and energetic album that still manages to remain sincere and honest. the lyrics are some of the best kanye has written since mbdtf, and imo the only album that has better songwriting in general is yeezus. it's a great mix of classic kanye rap songs like no more parties in la (with a killer kendrick verse), and more abstract newer kanye tracks like saint pablo and wolves. the interludes make sense in the context of the album and offer a short break for your ears after the emotional and sensual bombardment you will have just experienced. a really good project from kanye.
