An Evening with Silk Sonic

Probably the two most talented musicians in mainstream music entertainment today and at a certain level of talent on display you have to ask who am i to critique this?
Both of these musicians are multi instrumentalists who can pull of just about anything you can think of to do with an instrument while spinning a dance move.
A breed of musician and entertainer that is all but extinct, so it makes sence to me at least that together they would pay homage to a bygone era before sonic trickery and celebrity turned music into cosmetics adverts.
The brief length, the snappy pop format and unpretentious lyricism was never going to blow away critics and hipsters, but this is exactly the sort of project that highlights their biases and blind spots.

This album may not go down as a revolutionary classic but in the context of the cultural mainstream of music (the tiny shop window kept in a murderous strangle hold by a small number of corporate monopolies) its by far the most artistically credible project that’s been allowed to the party since T.P.A.B
