Musically Through Water has absolutely nothing original, it's a mix of indielectronica and modern pop art and already explored, however it's a very charming and smooth atmospheric album that Lapsley and his producer team manage to make live quietly and without bad surprises. Through Water illustrates through its very intimate and melancholic lyrical content, the new start it has made. In fact, it is in her writing and in the subjects she tackles that this new album culminates. Throughout, Lapsley shows introspection, sometimes daydreaming, but the main idea she tries to convey is rather doubts and negative aspects, even if hope remains. We can even see it through the album cover, where we see her after the big dive that deals with both this loneliness and this feeling of suffocation. Personally, I found this album pleasant, even if unfortunately it didn't really surprise me
