Quadeca is truly making a name for himself as an artist to hear! And the thing is, is that he’s kind of going through it naturally. It’s not jarring. Some artists can switch and it feels completely natural, whereas others make the switch and it feels like whiplash (take notes Lil Wayne). When I saw that Quadeca released a second disk to his most recent project, Vanisher, Horizon Scraper, I was excited! I was a big fan of Vanisher and thought that Quadeca was stretching a concept in a brilliant and unique way! The film that accompanied it was also incredibly interesting! If I had only one flaw that was distinctly noticable to me, it’s the pacing of not only the film but the album. I struggled to make it through Vanisher more than one time. Not because I didn’t enjoy it, but because I found its pacing to be pretty glacial at times, especially on the filler tracks and the tracks with limited vocals. I pulled up the extended cut, and disk 2 is only three songs. Finale, à noite, and accordion’s remorse. It added an extra 22 minutes to the album and it was mostly comprised of new age ambience. I was intrigued beyond belief.

I began listening, and it began like a symphony warming up. I was fascinated! To say the least, I was fascinated! Then we got a soothing, mellow, calming song ever. Like seriously, it’s so nice! It sounds like the instrumental to an Ichiko Aoba song, which is very high praise from me. The one thing I will say though is that it kind of sounds like royalty free background music to a video on how to reach zen. That’s not a bad thing per se but it does kind of make me think back to a strange part of my life where I was forced to do zen in a class of mine…strange memories. finale is a good track. à pointe is a very nice acoustic track! Another one that’s very calming, and very nice to listen to. It’s just a beautiful little jam track in my opinion. I like it a lot! It’s great! Accordian’s Remorse is a glorious track! The most highly acclaimed song on this miniature project, as well as the longest song in the entirety of the Vanisher continuity. It runs a total of 8 minutes in total. It’s a stunning piece though! It features a soaring composition! I loved this piece!

As a whole, it’s a beautiful 22 minutes. Genuinely stunning compositions, beautiful instrumentation, and wonderful production. It has everything going for it, but at moments I felt that I had heard it before. It’s not the most original compositions, but is it great, yes! I truly do believe it is!
