On PANG, Caroline Polachek pulls through with a solid solo effort, a seamless mix between trusty pop formulas and light PC music experimentation. Die Lit stands as one of the most essential trap rap releases of the decade and one with longevity, in large part, due to the dichotomy of mild lyrical substance alongside experimental production; a combo so often employed in the genre, but rarely ever executed at this level. I'm not sure I had the patience for this record upon release but it's grown on me. Give it a few decades and kids may be calling this an underrated gem of the 2010's.
