Coil - The Ape of Naples

John Balance's tortured vocals cover existential themes throughout The Ape of Naples. To begin with, it's attention grabbing but somewhat subdued - at least in comparison to the mid-section of the record. Make no mistake, this is downright terrifying stuff, but over such compelling electronic arrangements; a raw and thrilling experience.
